Freaky weather for Northern California

Sharpieman, clintl, Franklinnoble, and anyone else I missed ...

What's up with the thunder, lightning and rain in the middle of August?

It's 2:19 a.m. and there's some wicked lightning strikes, the occasional heavy downpour, and of course thunder.

Weather guy said this is the same system that caused the flash flooding in Las Vegas.

After a hotter than hell July, this is turning out to be one strange August.

Obviously the Sierra gets its share of lightning in the summer. The Valley usually doesn't get a storm like this during August though.

very odd - the training staff wouldn't let us practice yesterday.

something about the players getting zapped by lighting.

last year at this time it was 110 every day.

Well, I was asleep when you posted this... but the hail and thunder woke me up at around 4 AM.

I'm glad to see the rain... my damned well has been running low all summer. Plus it keeps the dust down (I live on a dirt road).

I'm thinking Fritz is gonna have all kinds of fun with that last sentence if he reads this thread...

The thunder was so loud around here that it kept waking me up in the middle of the night. I had a terrible night of sleep.

Odd weather in North California, a recall...

What else do we need for the Apocalypse to come? :D

I didn't even get rain or any bad weather, it was in the 70s like it always is here in Palo Alto.
