Click me

Bad idea VPI.

Noop 08-22-2003 02:01 PM

Who has clicked it so far?

Butter 08-22-2003 02:02 PM

This will surely go down in the annals of FOFC history as maybe the greatest idea ever.

No doubt about it.

KWhit 08-22-2003 02:05 PM

VP's in trouble.

VPI97 08-22-2003 02:05 PM

Oops

Bee 08-22-2003 02:06 PM

:(

Booooo...

LOL

Ben E Lou 08-22-2003 02:07 PM

No, I'm not mad. I can just see copycats springing up all over FOFC. I'd rather nip this one in the bud before it gets out of hand.

Butter 08-22-2003 02:08 PM

Well, sure it breaks the rules of use.... but dammit, sometimes pioneers have to break the rules!

Continue on to extrapolate a correspondence between VPI97 and Martin Luther King and/or George Washington.

stkelly52 08-22-2003 02:08 PM

Well that idea didn't last long, but it looks like you got alot of clicks while it did

My bad.

KevinNU7 08-22-2003 02:10 PM

I wish I new what was going on

Bee 08-22-2003 02:10 PM

You have to give him credit though SkyDog. That was very clever. :D

Oh, I agree 100%! I'll also go as far as to say that based on past history, I can't imagine VPI misusing it in an annoying way. The problem with leaving the code out there for any Rabble-Rouser to copy and modify....well, you get the idea.

Bee 08-22-2003 02:20 PM

definitely understand your point and agree totally.

Bonegavel 08-22-2003 02:22 PM

wow, another thread of confusion. Can anyone explain this to me? I've been working hard today (there's a first time for everything) and haven't had much time to check the board.

The events of today can only be explained by reading the FOFC:Solecismic thread backward in its entirety translated from its Swahili origins.

Bonegavel 08-22-2003 02:25 PM

Damn. I picked a hell of a day to actually work. Harrumph.

The best bet is to go and post the question in the FOFC:Solecismic thread. :D

Alan T 08-22-2003 02:26 PM

There is a way around that...

It is all related to the FOFC Survivor game that is going on. See: http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/for...threadid=13058 for today's challenges rules

Noop 08-22-2003 02:36 PM

I love the Solecismic tribe!

Right, but what did VPI do that forced SD to do a threadechtomy?

There was a box at the top of this thread that said "click me" If you clicked it it automatically posted in the solecismic thread.

Funny and harmless, but in the wrong hands it could have caused problems, so Sky Dog deleted it so that people couldn't copy the code.

HTML button entitled 'Click me' that would automatically send a reply to the Solecismic thread with the body 'I love the Solecismic tribe!'

Bonegavel 08-22-2003 02:56 PM

Nice. I hated to sound frantic, but being left out on such a monumental threadsplosion is like getting coal at xmas. I feel much better. In fact, I am going to go to the local WaWa and get myself and nice snack and drink.

KWhit 08-22-2003 03:07 PM

What is a WaWa?

henry296 08-22-2003 03:12 PM

WaWa is like a 7-11 but much nicer inside and better food.

Alan T 08-22-2003 03:17 PM

7-11 has food? I thought all they had were slurpies...

Marmel 08-22-2003 03:19 PM

Alan, they have wrapped sandwiches that are never anymore than 12 days old. They also have fake rolls of beef called a "Hot Dog" that rotate on a crazy looking oven for weeks at a time.

Alan T 08-22-2003 03:24 PM

Go figure.. And who said FoFc was not educational..

Marmel 08-22-2003 03:26 PM

In a pinch, the hotdogs are not half bad.

MJ4H 08-22-2003 04:09 PM

cool. i happen to live in a pinch. ill take 6 7-11 hot dogs. i mean "hot dogs."

to go

Marc Vaughan 08-23-2003 01:14 AM

Heh - I won't fall for that ......

Oops ;)

bbor 08-23-2003 02:01 PM

Heh. There used to be a WaWa near Hopkins, actually in the bottom floor of a house/apartment. Behind that building was a frat house (Alpha Delta Phi, the jock frat), and they became known as the WaWas. The WaWa closed sometime around '93 - a Royal Fram [Farm] popped up across the street - and was replaced by the "University Mini Mart". Luckily for the frat, they kept the WaWa moniker (at least as late as last year ) and were not redubbed the "Minis".

Bonegavel 08-25-2003 04:04 PM

FWIW, the name comes from the Indian name Wawa which is their name for Geese. If you ever see their logo, it has geese in it or something like that.
