FOFC Winston Cup Season #9 Signup
 

Any driver who signed up for Season 8 is all set for Season 9. There will be between 5 and 10 openings for new drivers also.

New Driver App - Please give me your driver name and either a number you would want or sponsor you would like. If you give a sponsor please also give a number in case that sponsor cannot be found.

All new drivers please PM with your stats. The following will explain how to create your drivers stats. Also, any current driver who is not happy with how their driver finished this past season and would like to create a new stat set do the same as new drivers would and send me a pm with the new stats.


You have 200 points to add to the first stat set. The Min can go no lower than 70. The Max can go no higher than 100. Their must always be at least 5 points between your Min and Max. If you do not want to make your own stat set I can come up with a random one for your driver. There is no guarentees as to how that driver would perform though.

You will 100 points to add to the car stat set. Same rules apply as the first.

For the third set you will have 75 points to add.

Pit Crew
Consistency: Min 70 Max 75

The signup for Season 9 will last until Monday afternoon at 3 PM Eastern Time.

Sterling Silvers will be back with a vengeance and hopefully more consistency.

EDIT: Tho, if he had read closer, he would know that he didn't have to sign up since he's all set.

Who's the man to talk to regarding some advice on stat placement, since, well, I apparently suck? :)

Last season Render helped out some people with stats and it seemed to help them quite a bit. He has said he's willing to help again this season also.

It didn't help me any. I guess I really sucked. :(

If you need some more racers, I think I would be willing to enter my sister into the series. Jensy Mack would probably do better than our slacker older brother Jobu...

As I just mentioned in the other thread (Season 8), I wish we didn't need to get the secret info to be competitive.

6 of the top ten drivers, Phillips, Kang, Henderson, Zalez, Kormelink and Newsday had no secret info and were still competitive.

Oh well, I guess we're just screwed then!

Dola, I still think something's gotta be up for the Snow clan to win (almost) every frickin' title.

Perhaps we should instigate a policy like NASCAR does with the Daytona 500 winning car.

at the end of each season, post the champions full stat set for everyone to view. This way the other drivers can see what they had for stats and compare it with theirs.

I'm just afraid that will lead to everyone having the same stats. with very little variety.

As much as I enjoy the titles, if its really causing people irritation I can just retire the Chris Snow Car. the others haven't showed his consistancy. (although i should point out that all 4 SMI cars have almost identical stats)

I've been thinking about some ways to make this a more interactive dynasty. With perhaps random events that could happen. I'm not sure how it could work though. I'll keep working at it.


*oh, and for anything to be up with the #40 winning the title, it would have had to have been Gold's doing as he had total control of the game. I'm simply a spectator :) *

Don't think I'm all that irritated, as this whole series has been an awesome dynasty to follow (in major part due to your work RendeR). Yes, I know this is a fictional universe in a computer game. I don't think there is anything "funny" going on. However, the fact that you are very familiar with the game leads me to believe you know what the best possible setup is (within our constraints). Obviously, many of us don't. You have a valid concern that we'd end up with the same stats for every car. I'd like to see what you, or gold101, or anyone else could come up with to make this a little more random. Just so you know, I'm still planning on setting up a similar dynasty with Tiger Woods 2003, so I'm very interested in ways to keep things interesting, yet still allowing participants to (at least partially) set their own stats.

Alright, lets see if I can prove that last season's final standings was not a fluke...and, heaven forbid, finish higher!

Phillips Racing looked very hard this off season to find a new replacement for Billy Rudd in the #27 car. Taco Money was the leading canidate until Nick Phillips co-owner of Phillips Racing found 20 year old Billy Bushinhimer. Billy had been racing Saturday nights at a local track. Billy won the late model division with an outstanding 8 wins. Phillips Racing decided that they should pick him up before somone else does. Billy has raced two races in ARCA. He has never before this season raced Nascar Winston Cup or Busch. This will be a huge challenge for the rookie to adapt.

Nick Phillips will be sporting a new look this year atleast for the first half of the season. Phillips has a 10 race contract with Pizza Hut. Nick after losing last years points race, Nick is looking to overcome last years disapointment. "Last year I think this team worked like crazy. We should have won the title. I think this year will be different, I believe all of our cars will be competitive this year not just mine and Henderson's. We have overhauled all of the cars. Anderson will have a pretty good car this year and I think Billy should hold his own out there. I have the feeling that someone besides Snow will win this year."

Kevin Anderson and the #8 AOL Chevy will still be racing this year. After last season they weren't sure if they would continue a 4 car team. They changed everything about the #8 team except the driver. This car should be very competitive this year, it has a lot more to work with.

This will be an exciting year for Phillips Racing
