Does (has) anyone here work(ed) for EDS
if so, please PM me. I have some questions.
|
PM sent. I don't, but know someone who does.

Real Man Corporate Quote Of The Century: At EDS, we had a rule that whoever sees a snake, kills it. At General Motors, they formed a committee on snakes.--Ross Perot
My wife was friends with Ross' daughter in college, if that counts Fritz. ;) |

If you're really worried about it, I can assure you that no animals were harmed during the filming of that cat wrangling commercial they did for the Super Bowl a few years ago. |
Not to sound too stupid, but what does EDS stand for? I'm trying so hard to figure it out and haven't been successful. Perhaps it is my lack of sleep from call last night.
|
I worked for them as a temp a LONG long time ago. Not sure I could help you anyway =)

Q: What does EDS stand for?
A: EDS stands for Electronic Data Systems. right there in the FAQ linked off their homepage.... |
IIRC, it used to stand for Enterprise Data Systems or something like that. I think their name is officially EDS now.
Edit: Meh, Fritz beat me to it. |

can I get an introdiction. A woman with Perot's ears would be the greatest thing since they put pull tabs on beer cans. |

It would be like riding a bike with handlebars. :D |

As opposed to the bike without a seat that you normally ride? |
Funny, EDS used to be the prime sponsor for Olympic Track Cycling....we used seats though.
|
Has anyone that worked for EDS here ever had a positive experience with them? I know two people that worked for them and have heard many horror stories, and have worked with them as a vendor myself twice and hate their organization.
|
I just want to hear any stories, good or bad.

I voted for Ross Perot, then my company signed an outsource contract with his new company Perot Systems. After dealing with them for three years I didn't vote for Perot the second time around.
I don't have a very high opinion of EDS. GM, their lynchpin client, spent well over a billion dollars on Y2K fixes. This was paid to EDS, the very same firm that had negligently placed the Y2K bugs over the previous decade and a half. |
