Can Anyone Help Me Out?
For some reason, everytime I try to start up my PC at home, it leads me straight to a user login screen instead of the desktop. Then, when I try clicking on a user ID (there's only one that has ever been used) it starts making noise and says "Loading Personal Settings..." and then reverts back to the log in screen. I can't figure out what is the matter and thought maybe someone here may have heard of a similar problem.
It's frustrating because normally I am on the PC and the internet for a good 5-6 hours a day and now for the past couple days I have not been able even use the PC. I'd appreciate any help, I can check in here at FOFC from campus and check in periodically. Thanks in advance. Neuq |
It doesn't sound like you can get to the security screen. I'd try to boot from a diskette. It will also depend on what OS you are using. 98 for instance doesn't take security too seriously. You can just make up a new username and password, and get in for instance.
