YAPOF

(Yet Another Post On FOF2K4)

What feature are you most jazzed about? I like seeing other's perspectives on features as, occasionally, somebody posts something they do that I never thought about or did differently and find new ways to play and enjoy the game.

My "most looking forward to" new feature is the Player Lock. I can't tell you how often I allow the AI to set my line up because it gets very, very tedious to keep the line up "legal" especially when it is a position I care little about. After letting them fill the position in question, I then have to go back in, click No to "allow coaches to set line up" and then go back to the line up and reset it. Repeat for each injury. *Bleck*

I think for me it's probably the 8 steps of free agency after the draft. I think this adds several things. First, it should drastically reduce the number of solid free agents who go unsigned and end up joining teams for minsal 1 year deals. Second, it will allow teams (both human and computer) to re-evaluate needs after the draft which is more in line with what really happens in football. Finally, I think it offers a huge opportunity for those of us who often play with house rules to make adjustments in the free agency part of the game without totally crippling ourselves.

Same for me... Usually I have a handful of players I'm trying to develop during the season, and I hate having to manually set the lineup every week just to keep my young QB as the starter.

I agree with both of the above, but also just as important for me is the expanded draft information. I just hope the data correlates into ingame performance. I want my 4.25 receiver to have some long gains.

I am looking forward to the "diversion at the Gold Club" feature.

I thought that was going to be part of the "Off the Field" expansion pack? Jim's going to include this with the game now? Wow... the download will be huge, but, what a bargain!

Thanks Fritz for tanking my already razor thin borderline interesting thread.

I think the name pretty much killed it anyway Bone.

Well, you've got me there. I was branching out in the area of Subject lines and went a little too far on the side of minimalism. More, in this case, would have been, well, at the very least, a step in the right direction.

I was going to make it YAPOF Smirnoff, but I didn't know if anyone would remember the Russian comedian.

Actually, he's exactly who I thought of when I read the thread title. And making people think of him probably wasn't a good way to get people into the thread...

Yeah, I think you're right. I was kind of hoping there would be a "curiosity killed the cat" kinda lure to the thread. But that didn't pan out. Kinda like Kim Bassinger and Alec Baldwin.

I'm guessing that Quik is going to go into detail with this in his diary, but could you give me a run-down on what this extra 8 step FA period is?

As it stands now, you get the ~20 rounds of FA, then the Draft, and now another 8 rounds?

forgive my ignorance.

Yep. It seems like a simple addition, but I think it'll make a big difference.
