WVU is my Hero
Go WVU! ROCK!!!!!
-Anxiety |
Quite the ass whipping they're handing out tonight...
|
Damn! I forgot football is on. Wednesday night...just doesn't feel right, does it?
|
I turned it off in the first quarter. The coaching staff didn't do their homework on WVU and the players weren't prepared. My wife's still watching the game upstairs and I hear her yelling obscenities every once in a while :)
|
Good for them, keep beating the turkeys.
|
WVU isn't coached by Glen Mason, is it?

PICK BROKEN! ZANG!!!!!

And it's games like these that prove that every year, VT is one of the most overrated teams in the country.
They're not gonna like the ACC. They're gonna be forced to play more than one good team a year. |
I love my 'Eers!!!!! WVU Rules!!!

Who? And nevermind 4 years ago (3?) they made the Champinships and barely lost. |
Wooohooo!
|
All of got to say is, GO VT! Beat Miami! :)
|
Absolutely.
|
I had to let the wife have the computer so I could finish watching the game. That was great and it puts WVU back in position to possibly get to a bowl. They have to win 3 of their remaining games.

I heart WVU... teach those ACC splitters a lesson!!

If they have trouble against WVU, then they're gonna have problems with Clemson, GT, NC State...hell, maybe even Wake Forest. 46-29 is not exactly "barely". Vick kept them in it, and it was obvious that their defense didn't bother to show up for F$U that night. It's a shame for Beamer that they have to play offense & defense, and not just special teams. |

The way WVU has played this season, I could see them winning all five of their remaining games, BUT, they could very easily lose all five, too. For the non-Mountaineer fans among us, we were expecting big things at WVU this season b/c we "quietly" went 9-3 last season and finished second in the Big East last season (yes, ahead of Va Tech and Pitt). But, we unexpectedly lost our bowl game badly and started off this season 1-4 w/ very close losses to Wisconsin, Cincinatti (ugh!), and Miami (a game we had won). Anyhow, winning this game unexpectedly is a huge turn in our postseason chances now. :) |
Looks like the party got a bit ugly
Police Use Pepper Spray on W. Va. Fans 2 hours, 24 minutes ago By JOHN RABY, AP Sports Writer MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Police used pepper spray on fans who tried to tear down the goal posts after West Virginia's 28-7 win over No. 3 Virginia Tech on Wednesday night. Many in the crowd of 56,319 stormed the field after the Mountaineers' first victory over a team ranked as high as the Hokies. But State Police and dozens of yellow-shirted security personnel surrounded the goal posts and kept fans at bay. Outside the stadium, thousands of WVU fans were partying immediately after the game. At first it appeared most were heeding pre-game pleas from coach Rich Rodriguez and local officials to avoid starting bonfires, which has become something of a Morgantown tradition. But more than an hour after the game fire officials reported four fires on Grant Avenue, including two large bonfires. In the first hour after the game, city fire officials reported three small fires, all of which were quickly put out. A light rain began falling about 45 minutes after the game, which officials hoped would dampen the hopes of potential fire starters. Fire and police officials had spent two days before the game removing garbage and couches from citizens' front porches, especially in the Sunnyside neighborhood heavily populated by students. Police inside the stadium tried to disperse rowdy fans with pepper spray, which also blew into the stands and caused discomfort to bystanders. Brad Anderson of Chester said he was hit by the pepper spray when he ran down onto the field. "We can't breathe. We're hacking up our lungs, but it was worth it," Anderson said. "It was a hell of a win." Fans retaliated by throwing debris at the workers. Some fans tried to use the sideline benches in an attempt to get to the goal posts before another round of pepper spray sent fans running. It wasn't immediately known whether anyone was arrested or seriously hurt. "I got pushed down and got pepper sprayed," said student Josh Harper, coughing and rubbing his eyes in the south end zone. "I got pushed to the ground by the crowd." Thirty minutes after the game ended, Rodriguez got on the public address system to tell fans to clear the field and go home. The field was then quickly cleared. At a press conference shortly after, Rodriguez said, "Hopefully they'll all go to bed early and go to class tomorrow." |

What lesson is that, we're pissed we weren't invited too? |
Hey Swaggs do you still have your couch or did you set it on fire? I hear that is a ritual in Morgantown. Great win for WVU. Va Tech show what a dirty team they were. Once they got down they started hitting after the whistle. I wonder if the media will make anything of Beemer slapping that player in the helmet. Maybe Va Tech was looking ahead to next week against Miami, but they were put in their place last night. Big win for WVU, almost makes up for that heartbreaking loss against Miami. :D

Fires on Grant Avenue? That all? I mean, fires on Snyder or High Street, that'd be something. But Grant Avenue? That's party central in Morgantown, you expect that sort of behavior if you live there.
