New Feature in FOF 2004?
 

At least I had not seen it prior to this occurence, but I found that if you have cap violations (right after the pre-season begins) the league will penalize you. In my league, Tennessee just lost their next 3rd rd pick. Pretty nice. If it has been mentioned before or its just an old feature just ignore this.

I think that is new... I don't remember it from the other versions. Nice job, Jim.

In older versions, the game simply would not let you go over the cap. It would seem this version does, but with penalties for those not paying attention to it. IMO, a good thing.

In FOF4 I saw teams get penalized with a 3rd round pick for draft violations too. It would show up on transaction log, I think.

edit - I mean computer controlled teams; never happened to me.

It happened to me just last week in FOF4. At the end of on season, my cap picture was fine, but the next season, I was above the cap right before the 20 stage F/A period. I lost my 3rd round pick then... I thought it was a bit tough, since I didn't remember getting a warning that I had to take care of my cap or else I'd lose a pick. I eventually released a few veterans and got my team under teh cap...
