Did you buy FOF2004 ?

Out of curiosity, just a small marketing survey to find out how many people have bought FOF2004.

Ah, good old french 'securité sociale'... :)

Kodos 11-15-2003 10:27 AM

I'm waiting until late at night sometime soon because of my sad little 56k connection...

MizzouRah 11-15-2003 10:29 AM

Not yet, but I plan on it for sure.

I'm waiting on the TCY import patch, plus I'm still in my TCY first year.

I bought it, but I won't have much of an opportunity to play it any time soon.

Well, I convinced my wife to buy an "early" birthday present- a 17" LCD panel. But, like all early birthday presents, it was forgotten as the big day grew closer. So, my real birthday present was GTA3 for the xbox. Don't know if I can stomach the violence, but the game universe is captivating.

This is a belated five year birthday present to myself.

Based on some of the comments I've seen on the board, I won't be buying it unless the game engine is corrected. I've seen too many posts on the inflation of QB stats + too many people making it to the Super Bowl in season 1 or 2 + a bad player editor. If people report that the first patch corrects these things, I'll buy, but I'll probably wait for TPF.

JeeberD 11-16-2003 06:24 PM

Bought it the minute I saw it was released....

McSweeny 11-16-2003 07:33 PM

i'll be buying it as soon as i can scrounge up some cash

Gambit 11-16-2003 07:59 PM

I bought it instead of waiting for CM 03/04/ It was a win/lose situation since I could only get one right now :(

I didn't mean it like that, so you can save your 'rolleyes' for someone else. I play FOF4 religiously, and have no problem with it....the point is that from what I've been reading on the board, there seems to be plusses and minuses to going with FOF 2004. Until the plusses outweight the minuses in what I want from a sim, there's no urge to purchase the game. Meanwhile, I'll try TPF because it's a new franchise.

I stole it from a blind, 2 toed Indian named Dances with Hands.

Sharpieman 11-16-2003 10:15 PM

I'm going to buy it once most of the bugs are fixed, seems like the smart thing to do with independent games.

Except there really are no major game-breaking bugs this time around...

The TCY import bug is game-breaking for me. Although it gives me more time to get some drafts generated.

I'm waiting around for this one to get fixed to dive into it seriously, but it's a kick as it stands.

Huckleberry 11-18-2003 08:18 PM

I'm weak. I just bought it.

I am a little surprised at how much FOF 2004 has been talked about compared to FOF4. I guess some of the initial bugs of FOF4 slowed the anxiety of the release?

It's good to hear 2004 is pretty much bug free, with a few tweaks needed here and there. Kudos to Jim and the beta team this time around, we appreciate your efforts.

It'll be on my harddrive once the patch is out and has been tested by most of you addicts. ;) TCY really has me going right now, I've been studying the league leaders for my first 2004 draft.

Ill get it after the first or second patch. After being burnt a few times in the recent past I wait till at least a couple patches are done before I buy any software game. However its hard when people are going on about how great the game is.

Dargone 11-19-2003 03:53 AM

Yes and I'm loving it:)
