There seems to be no such thing as half the distance to the goal. I even had a penalty that placed me at the -4 yard line. That was in the SuperBowl, lucky for me I gained 10 yards on the next play. Don't know if it would have been a safety otherwise.

Also some plays result in touchdowns without no explanation.

My favorite penalty error was an intentional grounding call against my opponent in their endzone on 4th down. I got the ball on the -4 yard line. On the next play I ran around left end for -4 yards and a touchdown.
