OT: Bad Santa

Anyone else see this?

Wasn't expecting much from it, but I can honestly say that it's been a long time since I last laughed in a theater like I did tonight.

Billy Bob nailed this role, and Tony Cox was awesome.

Definitely an adult-only movie, by the way...

Logan 11-28-2003 11:04 AM

guess not :)

The_herd 11-28-2003 11:10 AM

I can't convince the wife to see that one.

edited because I can't type too good.

Scoobz0202 11-28-2003 11:12 AM

You can or can't? :)

The_herd 11-28-2003 11:13 AM

Better?:)

Scoobz0202 11-28-2003 11:16 AM

Perfect :)

Balldog 11-28-2003 11:23 AM

I think I may go see it tonight,

DO NOT WATCH ELF. Maybe the worst movie ever.

ELF was a damn good movie, liked by both my wife and I. The first 15-20 minutes i didn't like because i didn't know what way they wanted to take the movie, but after that i loved it and had some good laughs.

JeeberD 11-28-2003 12:28 PM

I want to go see both movies. I've heard lots of good things about Elf...

Balldog 11-28-2003 01:01 PM

Maybe I was a little harsh, I did laugh a few times. I probably gave up on it too soon.

Draft Dodger 11-28-2003 01:03 PM

was turned off by the bad reviews of Bad Santa, but it looked funny to me (plus, I'm a big fan of Billy Bob - haven't seen him give a bad performance yet).

I also want to see Elf. Probably will wait for DVD for both of them, though.

Balldog 11-28-2003 01:17 PM

Fucking theatre is not ever going to get Bad Santa. WTF

Any links to some bad reviews? I ask because I have only seen positives (including a glowing 3 and a half star review from Ebert), so I'd like to see some differing opinions.

And as I said earlier...no one could have played that role better.

BigJohn&TheLions 11-29-2003 02:54 AM

Goin tonight. My G/F suggested it! I spent last weekend trying to convince her, and yesterday she asks if I wanna go!!! WOO-HOO!

alterra 12-01-2003 12:25 PM

Very funny movie. Maybe the funniest line ever: "Oh yeah, baby, you're not gonna shit right for a month after this!"

cody8200 12-01-2003 01:56 PM

I was going to go when I saw a reviewer call it great and one of the funniest movies of the year...that critic then went on to say that Ghost World was one of the best of 2001( same director). I stopped dead in my tracks. That movie is one of the worst I have EVER seen. Anyway my friend saw it...gave it 2.5 out of 5 stars. Said that the funniest part is when he beats up a 10 year old...that does sound pretty amusing...

I refuse to watch any movie that has Bernie Mac in it. His work is on permenent suspesion for giving the Cubs a "goocher" during the 6th game of NLCS.

I hate that man.

Billy Bob has a nice little role as the President in "Love Actually". (TLK goes and hides under a rock after admitting he actually saw that movie)

ntndeacon 12-01-2003 06:45 PM

Bad Santa was FAN- Tastic. It is easily the funniest thing I saw this year. Course that is not really saying that much, since the next funniest would be Matrix reloaded.( It was funny how bad it was)

BigJohn&TheLions 12-01-2003 06:48 PM

I'm still laughing. I came close to pissing my pants!
