Anyone on this board play this game. Im still a big fan, and play a fair amount(prob. too much).

If anyone does, patch 2.00a was just released fixing some more bugs and adding a fifth Specail Forces map called sandstorm. Havent got a chance to test it out yet, but ive really enjoyed all the other SF maps.

If anyone else does play, hopefully we could join up for a few rounds.

I always wanted to DL it but from what I remember, it's an incredibly long DL. Can you direct me to where I could DL it though, Blade?

I tried to download it from one of the sites advertised by www.americasarmy.com but was bumped at the last moment after I downloaded some insane ammount like 560mb or something. I haven't tried again.

I think the new AA requires a videocard with 64 MB of VRam. Being of 32 MB of VRam that doesn't work for me :D.

Finally, I've only been pimping this game in every BF1942 thread that was made. I play this game almost everyday. I love it, and even with my incredibly slow internet (I spent 11 hours downloading the medic patch) I still love it.

I am Scoobz_ from Operation Mayhem. :) I play this game all the time. On the TeamWarfare ladder OM is one of the premier teams. We had a deal with x6 that they will let us challenge them for #1 on the 6v6 Obj after the holidays. We are 15-1 I believe overall on all the ladders.

I play with BDK alot actually illini...i generally stick to SF pipeline as well, and see a lot of BDK guys.

I play under Blade2113, and am really enjoying it...joined after 2.0 but im doing really well...Ill def. have to look out for you!

The total is about 560 i think...i just downloaded it over a night and let the fun begin! Would reccomend dling it again

2 hours farting around just trying to get the game to realize that I actuall AM using a real user ID and password.
30 minutes of drudging through the drawn out training missions...
only to have a system crashing (worst I've had). Thanks Army Corp of Software Engineers. Brav-frickin'-O. The game won't even load now... just keeps spitting out the error displayed above.

The game is free and I feel ripped off. :(

It no longer exists on my hard drive. The Army should stick to what they know: hunting down bad guys and clogging up our weekend interstates w/ hummer convoys.

Is this game a free download of sorts? I heard briefly about it (I'll probably check out the website if I'm not too lazy).

Is this strictly multiplayer, or does it also feature a solo campaign?

It's not exactly free, unless you don't pay taxes. Otherwise it's like 2 cents I think someone came to as the cost. But you just click download, install, and do the training and you're ready to go.

It is strictly multi-player, the only solo parts are the training, which at times become very boring and tedious aka Medic and SF training. But it's all very worth it once you get on-line.

Only problem with the on-line part is a lot of people are assholes, and a lot are 12 which means a lot of:

Player 1: OMG U n00b
Player 2: STFU nub
Player 1: OMG HE H4x!!!!!! (Cheats)
Player 2: STFU n00b

But luckily, that doesn't happen as much as I've seen in BF1942.

Looks like a fun game. Is it pretty easy to get in groups or do you have to be part of a team?

I don't quite get what you mean, but:

For really good teamwork, try to get in a squad or clan.
Otherwise get your honor up and play on Elite Servers, which is where I usually am, and it's pretty good teamwork, sometimes.

Here you can find stuff for new players, and a squad recruiting section where you can find a team that fits you the best.

If anyone needs it, i think i still have all the answers to medic and special Forces...and a walkthrough for the E&E which i found dumb...i competed them on my own, but my friends are idiots and couldnt.

It's very good and much more realistic than BF1942, CS, etc -- when you die, you have to sit out until the rest of the round is over.

The d/l isnt too bad with a cable modem and a big hard drive.

i just got hooked again on this game for the third time! Bridge crossing is my favorite by far.

Look for "Pure_Havok" some time and say hi :)

I used to mess about with this, though I haven't for a while. Better than BF1942, in my humble opinion, with the bridge level being my favorite. A great level.

Didn't think it was too bad with the 12-yo d00dz, worst I remember was when half my team was a group of Serbians, the other half Croats. They spent the whole game killing each other and swearing (I presume) in Serbo-Croat.
