vtbub 01-01-2004 04:57 PM

I almost went with the wine cooler joke, but I thought it would date me,:)

korme 01-01-2004 06:53 PM

Coors Light, right on bub.

CamEdwards 01-01-2004 08:16 PM

Nah, I think this means Shorty's got a crush on an older woman... or maybe he finally bagged his mom. :)

Crapshoot 01-01-2004 09:52 PM

Hey hey hey,

Speaking of that, time for my jack and coke, easy on the coke.

oykib 01-01-2004 10:06 PM

WHen I opened this thread I expected tales of derring-do.

"Stifler's mom?!"

Bearcat729 01-01-2004 10:59 PM

I think Shorty went to see The Graduate tonight. The broadway travelling show is in town.

Maybe he's got the hots for Linda Gray

Tasan 01-02-2004 12:13 AM

Too much jack.....things are starting to spin...............wheeeeeeeee

Listen shit disturber, it's got value. Value gets two thumbs up. Decent taste and decent price, hard to beat.

Decent taste? I suppose if you think the taste of a rusted muffler that some yard dog pissed on is decent...

He's got you on this one Shorty. The only way Coors Light tastes decent if you haven't tasted beer before. Ok maybe it's better than some of the regional crap beers that go for about a buck fifty a twelve pack *cough cough* Blatz *cough* but aside from that, it sucks.

Vince 01-07-2004 03:09 AM

Seriously, Shorty, Axxon and NoMyths are right. Wait until you get to try some good beers...a microbrew or two. I prefer Porters and Stouts myself, but I also go for an occasional Red or Pale. Microbrews are the way to go :)

Groundhog 01-07-2004 03:32 AM

Bah, until you've tasted Aussie beer, you just plain aint tasted beer... ;)

Fosters, Australian for beer

When I went to Australia, I didn't see a single Aussie drinking Foster's. If it was ever brought up, they would laugh at it. As for me, I prefer 151 or Everclear. :p

DISAGREED! I know it isn't the best (I would prefer to have a Bud Light, for instance), but it is definately worse if you haven't tried it. Liking Coors Light is an acquired taste.

Vince 01-07-2004 02:39 PM

If you're comparing Coors Light to Bud light, that's your problem right there. Domestic beer sucks. Seriously, spring for some Newcastle or Harp or Bass next time. Those are some better beers.

EDIT: And if you really want Coors Light to taste good, try some Natural Light, or maybe some Milwaukee's Best. There's some nasty beer.

I think you mean, "Have someone spring for some Newcastle, etc., for you."

Oh, and all beer sucks.

korme 01-07-2004 02:43 PM

Dude, being my age doesn't make it too easy to pick and chose. I usually get my choices from the local grocery or gas station.

I don't touch Nati or the Beast anymore, I know all too well about those.

Another one that is decent and really cheap is Keystone, 30 for 11 bucks. Can't beat that.

Vince 01-07-2004 02:47 PM

'Stones are the way to go. Cheaper than Coors or Bud, and not really all that much worse.

And I can understand not being able to pick and choose...back in the day when I was a freshman in college, it was cases of Miller High Life, the Champagne of Beers. That's all we ever got. To this day, I'll still enjoy a nice longneck of highlife every once in a while, just for the nostalgia :)

korme 01-07-2004 02:54 PM

What about liquor.. any preferences? I am growing a strong liking for Jaegermeister.

McSweeny 01-07-2004 03:11 PM

i find cheap beer and liqour is the way to go. Usually a 30 of Miller High Life for 10 bucks or so and a cheap handle of Dubra or cheap gin for another 10 bucks gets everyone pretty good and drunk for a good price.

Though when we do have bucks it's guiness in bottles (BRILLIANT!) and Jameson's. Sometimes we go for a finer brand of vodka which is ok too.

And when out at the bar, i always get cheap pints of Bud or some of the local beers on tap

vtbub 01-07-2004 03:13 PM

Molson Export-My son.

JeeberD 01-07-2004 04:12 PM

I've become a bit of a beer snob in my old age. I pretty much just drink Shiner Bock, Fat Tire, and Harp. The only way I'll drink Bud Light is if it's free or if I'm flat broke. Premium beers are the way to go... :)

That stuff tastes like shit. No one buys it at the bar I work out. Of course, it's mostly older men so a lot of tonic

Me, I like Rum and Coke. Pretty simple

Tasan 01-07-2004 04:19 PM

Shiner. Bock.

The only two words you need to know.

Fat Tire...you are my hero. Greatest. Beer. Ever.

Keystone is the asswash of Coors - literally. It's the bottom of the Coors put in dented Coors cans that are painted over.

Dola-

I've recently started drinking drity vodka martinis. Good stuff. Vodka rocks. But don't get me anywhere near gin. That shit is evil.

And of course, you can't go wrong with a good old fashioned shot of Cuervo (no, not you cuervo72)...

korme 01-07-2004 04:35 PM

Gin is nasty, true dat.

When I was in college, we once had a 12 of Keystone. We actually threw it away. When college students are throwing it away, you know it's asswash.

MJ4H 01-07-2004 06:37 PM

None of you will probably be impressed, but Ive never had a drink of an alcoholic beverage in my life.

TLK 01-07-2004 06:49 PM

Beer- Woodchuck

Alcohol- Mr. Boston Rum (about $8 a bottle)

tucker342 01-07-2004 06:50 PM

The worst beer ever is Old Style. I can't stand beer in general though... get me some Bacardi(sp?) Select, or a good 'ole Gin 'n Tonic.:D

Actually on second thought, just give me some reefer.;)

dawgfan 01-07-2004 08:49 PM

Life is too short to drink shitty beer.

Fat Tire, Mirror Pond Amber, WinterHook Seasonal, or if I need a meal Guiness (though the best stout I've ever had was Moss Bay Stout).

Gin is disgusting, unless you like the taste of gasoline. Vodka or Tequila for the hard stuff (mmmm, Margaritas...)

Craptacular 01-07-2004 08:51 PM

My dad drank Blatz. Now you know why I don't drink.

Craptacular 01-07-2004 08:52 PM

Old Style is good for brats though.

Well, no, not impressed but then again I can't see using what a person chooses to either consume or not consume as a basis of a value judgement in any event.

Kids and their pot. Weed is not as fun as getting hammered. Give me a case before a blunt any day. And I too used to like only liquor (gets you hammered quicker), but you will soon grow to enjoy sitting down with a cold beer and gradually getting smashed.

BishopMVP 01-08-2004 01:05 AM

Because I remembered now, it's the vat, the bottom of the vat of Coors that Keystone comes from.

I don't think I'd go that far. Then again, where I am at UMass I could leave a 30 of Milwaukee's Best Light sitting in the hall and it would be gone within 15 minutes. Less on a weekend.

Actually, who am I kidding - I'd never relinquish a 30 no matter how bad the beer is.

One of my great uncles drank listerine.... and rubbing alcohol.... anything with alcohol at all. He died young.

This is kind of off-topic, but when I get drunk off either 151 or Everclear grain alcohol (190proof) it's a different kind of drunk. I don't feel as tipsy and I've never gotten sick despite having had more alcohol there than with like Morgan's or Smirnoff. And Shorty, that's another thing you might want to consider - if you're making like 50/50 Rum&Coke mixes, they go down so easy there's a greater danger of drinking too much.
