The Official Golden Scribes Finalist Thread
 

It is my great pleasure to announce that in the coming days, I will be revealing the Finalists in the numerous categories for the 2004 Golden Scribes Award show! Congratulations to all of the esteemed finalists, and good luck in the final voting period.

After all of the finalists in each category have been named in this thread, I will post a final ballot thread with all of the information you will need to cast your votes for 2004 Golden Scribes. Until then, you will have some time to check out some of the top dynasties of the past year that you may have missed out on.

GoldenScribeGuy, better brew another pot of coffee. You've got a lot of reading to do. :)

Wow, I didn't even know I was nominated. I haven't been able to get the old save games from my last PC (died on me). Hell, I still have to get TCY and FOF2004 installed on my new PC. Anyone know if it's a 2 use license or if there's going to be more involved since I won't be able to unlicense it from a dead PC.

I miss my Haloes and Poppies dynasties. I gave up both because of issues I had with the game AI and other issues (OOTP made some really bad free agent decisions, and the problems with CM4 are well-documented).

Thanks to those who nominated me for the Golden Scribes.

I actually hope to one day return to both sports and do dynasties in the future.

On a more serious note, I'd like to remove TCY Helper from consideration. It won last year, and hadn't been modified enough to really be considered a new utility.

Nope, you did release version 3.0 which was maybe not that different but I think much more stable on more systems...

Wow... "Superpower" got nominated... I couldn't even finish it....

I got Civ3: Conquests for Christmas... maybe I'll have to do a sequel...

I'm no expert in this area. Maybe we can sub FOF Reporter for TCY Helper? Or do people feel strongly that TCY Helper should remain?

If you want to supply me the list of who is et al, I can edit it. :)

I think Kodos should exercise his eminent Golden Scribe discretion and allow FOF Reporter to be substituted for TCY Helper.

That shouldn't happen eaither. Draw inspiration from the academy awards - if a movie is released post deadline it is considered in the following year. That's fine for me.

Technically, it's supposed to cover all of 2003. I know the nomination period throws that off a bit. I say we go with Grid Iron's idea and just replace TCY Helper with FOF Reporter. The whole awards thing isn't a science. You end up having to make judgment calls, and this one just makes sense. :)

Dang it...that means I'm going to have to come up with yet another killer ap to be considered in 2004...hmmm...

I think we got a nice variety of nominees this year, and some good up-and-coming posters. :)

Wow, my favorite dynasty ever among the best of all time! Woohoo! I miss that dynasty. :(

Stupid hard drive problems. Actually, the last time I had my hard drive working, it was while running that game. So that dynasty was so powerful it killed my hard drive. :)
