Any old AOBLers out there??

I noticed a few handles that I may have recognized from an old league called the AOBL (BBPRO). Just wondering if there are any fellas out there that I have followed here... also anyone from TRM (the Real Majors)...

Maybe

I think I was in that league when I was younger with my brother, like junior year of high school. I had the Expos I think.

I don't know what it was called, but my first sim league run by BBPro I was the Red Sox and traded Mo Vaughn to the Mariners for Tino Martinez. It must have been AT LEAST six years ago, probably more like seven. But my handle wouldn't have been sooner333...but maybe there is someone out there who remembers that league (more likely not, but you never know).

Wow, its been awhile since I've heard about the AOBL...I was the owner of the Detroit Tigers.

The first multiplayer league of any sort that I was ever in was a High Heat '01 ;eague that sooner333 was a part of. Can't remember if he was the commish or what, but I remember that I was so stoked because I had Scott Elarton and he was a total stud in the game...

I had to drop out of the league without even a goodbye when my roommate one day packed up his computer and moved out. That was also when I said bye-bye to The Sideline. :(

We're all lurking in the shadows I guess.

I was the commish of a couple of leagues of HH, one with fictional players and fictional teams, and another where I believe it was random drafted with real teams. I'm still looking for that league online and I forgot what it was called. The first was called the Field of Dreams League, FOD for short.

JeeberD 07-09-2004 01:34 AM

Oh crap, I had forgotten about the FOD! God, the only thing I really remember about that league was that I used the El Paso Diablos logo for my team. Can't remember if the team was located in El Paso or not...

Damn, 2000 doesn't really seem all that long ago, but it's so hard for my old brain to remember all these details... :)

sooner333 07-09-2004 02:01 AM

Yeah, I can't remember the FOD website either, but I do remember how there was a huge home run hitter on the Ada team. That was fun to run, but with that and high school it seemed like there was too much on my plate. The makeup of that league was kinda funny too, some FOFCers, some of my friends, and then some Sooner fans.

2000 seems like a really long time ago to me, except for the Sooner football...that will always seem like not that long ago. However, basically my friends have changed since then, I'm going to school in Illinois, and I've just grown as a person (if that makes sense)...however, the funny part is that the friends in that league have remained my friends to this day...while many of my friends outside the league I haven't talked to since senior year in high school.

sooner333 07-09-2004 02:08 AM

Dola...and since we never got through the playoffs, I was about to check the state of the league, but then I found out that the computer was given away and the harddrive taken out and broken apart, so basically unless the website is retrieved, the FOD is gone forever.

Bear, what was your team in AOBL? I wonder if Cmillsy or RichK (I believe that was his moniker) are around on these boards...probably a longshot. Anyways, it was a great little league, the FA system we had setup was the best of its time.
