Please don't joke about reporting someone using HT at work

There have been a couple of posts regarding reporting people who spend time looking for cheaters to their workplace. They were in jest but a couple of people took them seriously and reported the posts.

This forum has never had a problem so I ask everyone to keep that in mind.

Yeah I know it seems silly, but please refrain from doing it for little ol' me and Frogman ok? :)

Poli 02-07-2004 03:26 PM

I'm lost. What does this mean?

TargetPractice6 02-07-2004 03:32 PM

I was wondering about that too, AE.

The Afoci 02-07-2004 03:40 PM

Don't threaten to turn people into their work places for being on hattrick.

Poli 02-07-2004 03:43 PM

Dam....I mean, Dannnnnnng!

That is messed up!

Yeah basically that's what I meant. :D

The Afoci 02-07-2004 03:44 PM

Yeah it is, luckily my boss is addicted to Hattrick too...

HornedFrog Purple 02-07-2004 03:47 PM

The posts in question even had j/k in them and smilies, but still it was reported. *shrug*

So I guess the best way to handle it is ask everyone not to do it.

HornedFrog Purple 02-07-2004 03:50 PM

There I fixed the title so it makes a little more sense.

Icy 02-07-2004 10:24 PM

Umm... i was who made that joke, if i have made any bad to anybody i'm really sorry, but now that i have read it again i can't underestand why anybody could take it seriously, here is what i said:

Just a j/k, good job finding this cheaters that destroy the HT fun.

Mybe i need to add even more smillies or "j/k", I thought that the average humor sense and intelligence of the board members was better but seems i was wrong, anyway this won't happend again, i will think twice in the future before posting, i came here to this board to talk about my hobbies, HT and the NFL/FOF, and also to have some fun joking with ppl around the world, but from now i will limit myself to talk about "serious" stuff.

HornedFrog Purple 02-08-2004 08:51 PM

Don't worry about it Icy... as far as I am concerned it's a dead issue.

fantastic flying froggies 02-09-2004 03:51 AM

I would like to report the guy that reported the initial thread for an obvious lack of humour...

Blade6119 02-09-2004 08:38 AM

i bet it was you! There he is, GET HIM!!!

fantastic flying froggies 02-09-2004 09:11 AM

Oh, but I do, and it's ever so infuriating. Tracking down pointer errors is the most fun thing in the entire world :(

<-- Current CS Major

It was fun at the engineering job fair last week. Here's the typical exchange:

*cheery HR person* "So, what's your major"
*quasi-upbeat me* "Comp Sci"
*HR person looking like a family member had died* "Oh... I'm sorr-- I mean, we're taking resumes"

SI

I would report him for having a serious pole up his, uhmm, nose. Don't sweat the small stuff as the saying goes.

Jets80 02-10-2004 12:29 PM

I was the person who ICY made that joke too in my cheaters thread. I knew he was just joking..thus the "j/k" in his reply.... what the heck is this thread talking about ?? poeple reporting poeple who report cheaters to their work??? bla bla bla bla

Jets80 02-10-2004 12:32 PM

dola.. Is this thread really worthy of a Sticky? Isn't there enough Stickys already.

HornedFrog Purple 02-10-2004 12:36 PM

It's unstickied on Wednesday, by then the people that come in for friendlies will have seen it.
