That's the historical standings for my series. I've spent over a year in this same series. I've finished in second place two or three seasons in a row. This season it'll look like I'll finish second again unless I pull a miracle and beat the number one team. And then to know that I could technically auto-promote but I can't since I'm in second. Then some guy posts and asks if a passable midfield will do for him in D4 cause he finally put it up and will be headed there. And here I am putting up an outstanding with passable/solid/excellent/formidable attack and defense ratings. And to know the odds of my winning this game is nil. And then realize I'm stuck in D5 for another season in a series where there is one guy who reads the conferences and that's me. So it's boring and I WANT OUT DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok thanks for letting me get that out. :) And FrogMan I know, I'll look for a keeper real soon.

Now for some help.

This is my economy:
Economy

Cash funds: 2 781 023 US$ (2 755 700) US$
Sponsors: delirious
Supporter Club: 1669 members
Supporters: delirious

On away weeks I'll lose around 23k and on home games I'll gain about 166k.

Here are the ratings of my last three games. This one was a PIC, the other two were normal:

Spring Grove Fighting Eagles
Player rating and Team formation
Team Attitude: Play it Cool
Tactic: Normal
Tactic skill: (Unlimited)

Midfield: excellent
Right Side Defence: solid
Central Defence: passable
Left Side Defence: solid
Right Side Attack: formidable
Central Attack: formidable
Left Side Attack: passable

Now help me decide to spend some of that cash on. I was thinking a wingback, or defender. Or keeper, or winger. Just not midfielders. Forwards are the last place I want to look as of now.

Whew.

Buy a keeper... no doubt about it. In this case, I'd put most or all of your eggs into that one basket.

Go to Taco Bell.

I just wanted to offer some advice that others haven't.

I'd say get the keeper as well.

No offense, but your attack/defense ratings aren't very good for someone who has been playing as long as you have. Of course, your midfield is better than mine... but that's beyond the point!

...and I thought I had a lot of points in my series. Me with my measly 116.

In my opinion, I think you will gain the most out of improving at goalkeeper and winger. Improving to a higher level goalkeeper (either formidable with good experience or an outstanding) will improve all three defensive ratings and bring that up to par with the rest of your ratings. I would also consider getting a different winger to play as offensive instead of toward middle (or at least try Lowe as an offensive instead) to improve the weaker offensive side. You should still be able to hold a pretty darn high quality midfield while improving your offense on that side. I think having two formidables is already pretty darn good but having an effective third side will be very helpful to you.

get an oustanding keeper asap! that will kick your defense ratings up. And try and round out that attack. I find having a well rounded attack is much better than being really weak on one side. And your midfield can take the hit you'll get from going to either both offensive or normal wingers as opposed to towards the middle for one

Wait another week or two and buy my outstanding keeper (as soon as he pops to outstanding). :p

Gwalyn 02-10-2004 11:24 PM

I will sell you my outstanding keeper. You can see him in the thread "Keeper Trainers"

fantastic flying froggies 02-11-2004 05:16 AM

Man, that defense just plain sucks !!!

Airhog 02-11-2004 09:25 AM

Don't Feel Bad, Ive spent a whole year in the same division 5. And I can't even crack the top 2 :D

Doesnt mean that I havent came a long ways, but I still have a long ways to go. I would go with a keeper. The 2 best teams in my series both have 4-5 star keepers. Of course they both train keepers, but they make it alot harder to beat them, even if I do dominate them in the midfield.
