Congrats to John Daly

Daly does it! Long John wins Buick in playoff

Nice to see him win again. He won a couple of non-PGA tour events last year, so hopefully he's "back" for a while. He brings a lot of fans and a lot of excitement with him. It'll be great to be able to see him play in person at this year's PGA Championship.

I don't really follow golf much at all, Tiger included, but it did bring a bit of a smile to my face when I heard Daly had won. Good for him.

I was pulling for him, I was really glad to see this.

Yeah, no doubt. I was wondering yesterday if he's the most loved player on tour?

There was an awful lot of talk about the golf event at the poker tables on Saturday... and nearly everyone I heard talking about it was pulling for Daly.

Sounded like the crowd was thunderous there for him. He hit a great bunker shot in the playoff and the other two guys fanned on 10 footers...

It was cool seeing him go for the green over water from 260 a la Tin Cup...

I think it was a 6 footer and a 5 footer... ouch!!!

timmae 02-16-2004 12:55 PM

Side note... what was with CBS pulling out on Saturday when Daly was on the 18th fairway?!?!? Finish the darn tourney, please... millions missed his eagle on the 18th which basically won the tournament for him. Damn CBS!

I love Daly. He's a real life Happy Gilmore and Tin Cup stuffed into a 300 pound alcoholic trailer park habitater. It's hard not to cheer for him.

Somebody buy that man a beer...
