FOF-Defense.....will this work
 

I have 3 pretty good corners, 4 good-great LB, crap on the defensive line.

I was thinking about running a base Nickel Defense consisting of the following.

LEft being the strong side for demonstration purposes
SLB DT DT DE

WLB MLB

CB MLB(as SS) Nickle Corner FS CB

Im not sure about how the blitz %'s would work, but was considering playing a high amount of zone in the secondary, and blitzing the hell out of the MLB playing SS(both Run blitz and pass). A big question I have is whether or not my SLB playing DE will get abused. Im inclined to think so, but he has pretty solid ratings across the board.

Other option would be to basically run a straight 3-4 with the 3rd CB playing SS.

How big is the SLB? I think if he's big enough, he'll do ok...but probably not up to his ability.
