Program to convert music off CD-ROM to mp3s?
I know there is a way, I just don't know how. My boysnightout cd is very hard to find mp3 wise on Kazaa.
Thanks homeyz. |
I use musicmatch without any problems. itunes would be one you could try as well. Both are free. I assume you are talking about an audio cd right?
Make sure you are aware of the quality of MP3 you are making. Usually, the default won't sound that great. I would convert to 128kbps or higher. Oh, and don't steal music off of Kazaa or anywhere. ;) |
What I use:
- Exact Audio Copy to extract to wav - mkw Audio Compression Toolkit to convert to mp3 |
I use:
Exact Audio Copy for extraction(makes .wav file) Lame with --r3mix parameter for compression(turns .wav into .mp3) They can go together, so once configured its in effect one tool. There are many tools out there, but i think this combo gives you high quality. |
I use EAC to extract and drive LAME. One nice feature of EAC is that it will do a CRC of the data it reads, which can allow you to detect errors ripping (if you do a test read prior to the actual rip to get a reference CRC).
What does the --r3mix parameter do? |
www.r3mix.net used to describe it, but it seems its gone.
Its a preset that sets a whole bunch of parameters in a way that was found to have the highest quality, one of which is VBR(variable bit rate), don't remember the others, i'm no audiophile. Not 100 percent sure if it is in the latest versions of lame or not. |
