Adults should act like adults |
I don;t think that is it. let me put it in context.
"Well, what can you say, grown folk be grown." edit: I understand the sentiment, just not actual meaning. |
Parents just don't understand.

is that guess or are you pretty sure? |
maybe it's a way of dismissing someone's unpleasant character traits? as in, well, he's ignorant because he grew up that way?
|
Quote:
That's a wild guess. |

Sort of like "You can't teach an old dog new tricks." |

i shot the sherrif, but i did not the deputy

Are you sure it wasn't "groan folk be groan"? Cause that could mean, like, if a bunch of bad comedians were in a room, and one of the bad comedians made a bad joke, then they all would kind of groan at the joke. Or, more simply, "groan folk be groan."

Quote:
grown folk means older people 30+; be grown means having adult problems according to my "ghetto" slang. So it mean older people have adult problems... |

Who shot who in the what now? |
Anyone know what "What they do" means?

I thought Magic Johnson's show was cancelled long ago?

Are you fairly sure or are you guessing? |
Is it really not obvious? This must be a joke.

I'm fairly sure according to the slang here in miami. |

Thanks |
Why am I not convinced that that's what it means? I thought it meant the more obvious meaning.
|
what is the more obvious meaning?
|
Why are you asking? Where did you hear this? What's so important about a grammatically poor euphamism?
|
if I had wanted to mention that, I would have done so by now.
|
But it's obvious!!
|
The mean streets of hawley have taught me that grown folks be grown means that old folks are old, they aren't going to change.
Rough translation, I haven't been a rowdy one for a while. |
