Anyone heard anything about Intel mobile chip price cuts?
 

My wife heard on the radio that Intel is overstocked on mobile chips and that as a result, there will be a significant price cut in Intel based laptops in about 4-6 weeks. Can anyone confirm this? I did a quick search but couldn't find anything.

According to my wife, the radio report said that Intel had advised Wall Street of the news, but hadn't made any formal announcement. Also according to my wife, midrange laptops would go for around $500. I haven't priced computers in a few years, but this seems pretty cheap for a laptop if it is true.
