OT: sports handicapping books

I'm looking for a decent read or two about sports handicapping, mainly for the four major sports*. i'm not the biggest of gamblers, but i find it fascinating, and would like to research various gambling techniques and strategies, etc. anyone know of a good read? thanks.

*edit: four major = AMERICAN four major sports. none of that hooligan soccer nonsense...

Normally, I'd think that you really want an answer to that question, but based on your original soccer comment in this thread, that simply sounds like a jab.

don't get me wrong, i love to play soccer.... (or at least i DID, until the indoor game tore my ACL to high holy hell.) but, watching the sport is another matter, in my opinion. unless it's world cup action - that's greatness. but the kc wiz or whatever vs the chicago fire or some such? not so much...

(although i am a little intrigued about this fredddy adu clown - i may just have to go to a burn game to see this dude when he comes thru dallas...)

It's a shame that the Kansas City team had to change its name from the Wiz to the Wizards. I loved the first-season MLS matchup between Kansas City and Dallas.

"Stay tuned for the MLS match between the Wiz and Burn."
