The Official Chill Thread
Damn, what the hell is in the water. Top threads of the day have basically all been various sorts of shit-flinging.
I officially dub this the 'have a beer, kick back, chill out' thread. Or something. |
WERD. Good call.
I will partake in a Red Bull/vodka if you don't mind. |
I must be completely avoiding those threads. I just keep reading the NCAA tourney thread and hattrick :)

I would love to kick back with a beer but this is a dry weekend for me :( So, have one for me :)

Why is that? |
I will be partaking in some libation as soon as I can finish up some loose ends here at work...

Partly because I am on a diet and don't want the empty calories this week, partly because I spent WAY too much money out last weekend. |

Its ok, its going pretty well, I've gone from 228 in late November to 190 as of Friday, so I don't mind it since I am getting pretty good results. Another 10 pounds or so and my usual weekend debaucheries will begin anew :D |
F*cking elitists.

There is that no carb vodka out now. That is some hope. Right?! Say it isn't so....heheh |
I grabbed an Ultra after a nice workout. Hmmmm.... is that an oxymoron?

This Chili recipe is courtesy of my mother-in-law, "Maw-Maw". It is very simple and mild as far as heat goes. 1.5 lbs of lean ground beef (I get 94% lean) 1 can of chopped tomatoes (I get the chili kind with onion) 1 lg can of Brooks chili mix 1 can of dark red kidney beans (I get the Brooks mild chili beans) Heat the ground beef in a non-stick skillet and season with garlic salt. Brown the beef and drain. In a pot, crock pot, or dutch oven, add the drained meat, tomatoes (do not drain), chili mix, and beans. Cover and heat on medium until warm. Add cumin powder, chili powder, and sugar to taste. Do not over season as the flavor will intensify once the chili gets good and hot. Heat until hot and recheck for taste add sugar, chili powder, and/or cumin powder if needed to taste. Garnish with chopped jalapenos, shredded colby/jack cheddar cheese, durkee red hot sauce, sour cream, and anything else you like on or with your chili. Variation: Cook some spaghetti noodles, put on a plate, add chili, and a sauce made from mixing ketchup and worchishire sauce. Yummy!! (* I keep it mild for my wife and the kids and then add what I want when it's in my bowl. I make a kicked up version when attending parties or when I have friends over. *) Todd |
Any recipe that has the ingredient "chili mix" isn't a true recipe.

That was the first thing I thought when I read this thread. Glad someone else was paying attention. |

Quote:
Actually, by reading the title incorrectly, you were the one NOT paying attention :p |
Damn, that one looks good
|
Quote:
No, I (we) were paying more attention than those who read it correctly! |

Damn you and your lawerly legalese! |

I make damn good chili but what the hell is this teaspoon thing of which you speak? Is it like when I just kindof toss some spices in there and add season by taste or is it a vastly inferior measure?
