How long did it take you guys to reach the top 25 consistently?

How long did it take til you made the NCAA tourney consistently?

How long before you made it past the first weekend of the NCAA tournament?

I know many FBCB players started with an independent. I started with a team in the Horizon League (prestige level 3), and I've got them to be pretty solid. But I'm really struggling with postseason success. I've never made the NIT, but I've made the NCAA tournament 7 of my first 10 seasons. My record in the NCAA's is 1-7. I have had bad luck with injuries in the past when tourney time rolls around, so that may have affected a game or two.

It took an amazing year to even win that one NCAA game. It was a starting lineup of all seniors and that team had an amazing 22-game win streak.

I guess I'm just wondering when y'all made it to the next level. Getting frustrated after ten years of mediocrity in the postseason (but I am very very happy with dancing 7 times in 10 years).

How'd you miss the NIT way back when with that 21-7 record ( 2007 )?? Seems like it should have been good enough.

RPI: 197. I was playing a HORRID schedule back then. I think I started out playing every single-digit prestige team I could find, and no one with prestige over 20.

Makes sense. I'm in the same boat you were in after that season. Seasons that are ok but no real progress but at least my prestige is creeping up. It's a bit frustrating but that's why I like your updates; gives me something to look forward to. :)

EagleFan 04-05-2004 07:04 AM

How old is your coach now? About 100? Or did you have to retire and start with a new coach after so many seasons?

Ben E Lou 04-05-2004 07:05 AM

102. HR confirmed that you can coach forever.

Wolfpack 04-05-2004 12:40 PM

Actually, 102 may not be so far-fetched in 2078. Who knows what kind of life expectancy, and more importantly, life fulfillment could be like (cue futuristic scientific music)?

Senator 04-05-2004 03:02 PM

retire already Skydog. Let youth have its day.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the head-in-a-jar technology.

Actually, I'm thinking about retiring this coach, and starting right now with a new one with a 0-prestige team.

thats the way i like to start it out too.

and your coach is 102? holy crap! I like to retire before 70, although i think i may break the 70 mark for the first time with my current coach. I like the way it works out though......i retire my coach in his late 60's and his son he had in his early 40's takes over. And i have the chance to build up another school, one that offers my NO-experience coach a job his first year, meaning its a crap team.
