Weathersby can't catch a break....

Bengals CB hospitalized after car accident

Defensive back's condition has not been made known

Bengals cornerback Dennis Weathersby was hospitalized in serious condition with a head injury Tuesday, one day after his car went off a highway ramp and struck a utility pole.

Officials at University Hospital in Cincinnati said it was too soon to comment on Weathersby’s long-term outlook.

Police were investigating why Weathersby lost control of the car. A blood test showed no evidence that drugs or alcohol were involved, police Lt. Tom Wells said Tuesday.

Weathersby was the Bengals’ fourth-round draft choice in 2003 from Oregon State. He dropped in the draft after being a victim of a drive-by shooting last April, and played in four games on special teams.

Weathersby was shot last year in Pasadena, Calif., a bullet entering his back below the lungs, passing through his torso and lodging in his upper left arm. The reputed gang member later convicted of attempted murder in the case had mistaken Weathersby and a friend for two gang members, California authorities said.

First the drive by, then being drafted by Cincy, and now a bad car accident. Poor guy....

Maybe he just realized he was playing for the Bengals? :)

Seriously, I don't know anything about this guy but I remember the shooting. What horrible luck. I hope he recovers and I for one will be rooting for him.
