Kill Bill DVD is kind of weak

While Im not a super fan of listening to tarantino talk, the lack of a commentary is pretty shady.

tucker342 04-13-2004 07:59 PM

that sucks... at least the movie was good

stevew 04-13-2004 08:09 PM

I have a bad feeling Im gonna have to buy the 3 disc "ultimate edition" eventually.

I think I'll *try* to exercise some willpower and see if they release a full version of the movie on DVD after the second part is released.

Bearcat729 04-13-2004 08:14 PM

They are going to do a Lord Of The Rings type special edition with it after the second one is released.

I *tried* too also. But the Blockbuster $12.99 with any crappy DVD trade-in deal drew me in.

Upon further review im almost positive, the White-Suited assasin that kills O-Rens parent in the anime segment is Bill.

Yeah, I'm not touching this release with a 10 foot pole. I expect a 3 or 4 disc set with both movies in time for christmas.

Pussy Wagon!

I really don't like Tarentino's work but I'm always up for a good action flick. The trailer looked great and I like Uma Thurman, David Carradine and Michael Madsen.

Is this a blind purchase?

Carradine and Madson arent really in this movie. THey are in volume 2.

Karim 04-14-2004 11:40 PM

ok... is it still a good film?

k0ruptr 04-14-2004 11:44 PM

Absolutely. It is awesome.

From Video Business Magazine;

director Quentin Tarantino has big plans for both Kill Bill, Volume 1 and Volume 2 on DVD. The director has been quoted as saying that he cut an alternate version of Kill Bill, Volume 1 for release in Japan, that will be released in the States eventually. This version contains both new footage and omissions. He also plans to assemble a complete 4-hour version of both films together for art house theatrical screenings. Look for a multi-disc "major special edition" of both films on DVD, which may include significant deleted scenes (including the original introduction to the character of Bill, who originally fought Michael Jai White, as well as the original scene at the wedding chapel). Tarantino is also reportedly considering releasing additional stand-alone supplemental discs after the main DVD release. He was apparently inspired to do this by Universal's recent American Pie: Beneath the Crust DVDs.

Then there is the prequel he's thinking of doing which will probably end up being released as a trilogy boxset with the other two.

Best movie of 2003.

And it's the only Tarantino film I've liked :)

I heard talk of a Volume 3 where Vernita's daughter gets revenge for her mother's death, but at the rate QT makes films(4 in over 10 years) I doubt we will ever see it.

SackAttack 04-15-2004 02:22 AM

I read an interview with him in Entertainment Weekly where he said he already had his leading lady in mind for Vol. 3 (keep in mind, she's, like, 8 years old right now), and was considering shooting footage shortly with the actors and actresses from the first two volumes who would have a role in the third volume, just to preserve them at the age they are now.

Wild stuff.
