What would be the normal price of someone like this?
Stamina: formidable Goaltending: disastrous Playmaking: weak Passing: poor Winger: weak Defending: inadequate Scoring: supernatural Set Pieces: weak He's 29 and Outstanding exp... |
to dam old!
|
if you have to ask, you cant afford it :D
|
I'm looking for a future coach (reason for the age)... he has inad leadership, which isn't good for a coach... but I would like an excellent coach so I can train a future U20 defender better.
|
I would guesstimate that you are in the $5.75-$6M range with that guy. Your standard SN forwards are about $6M. His age reduces the baseline, but his experience pushes it back up a little.
I'd say that he's a steal for $5.29M . . . ;) |
You're killin me man... instead of wind beneath my wings, you are stealing the wind from my sails... :(
I mean, Thanks! |
okay here is all the possibles I saw...

Any particular reason that you are after players that can start?

I'm looking for people that can play on my squad and help for at least a season (since I have to wait that long) to gain that extra experience.
I might even wait until Gant hits poor leadership... which could be sometime in the next 2 seasons. |
That doesn't seem like a good idea to me. These players are so old, that they are one injury away from being done, and their skills will erode. You will never recoup the $5M you spend on the player.
It seems to me that your team would be better off, buying a 25 yo starter and the selling him in a few seasons when your team outgrows him, and a coach candidate that can just rot on your bench. Just my opinion. |
It's a very valid opinion. I would buy someone that would rot that had like WC exp. Excellent coaches aren't cheap, so the higher the cheaper...
|
I didn't pull the trigger on that forward. He did sell for the $5.29mil... I really wanted to push that bid button. After relooking at the Coach Chart... I wouldn't save myself THAT much from formidable to Brilliant experince...
Jens is the next one up for sale... he's at a decent price for a clown. |
I'd go after Jens. At 30, he can start for 1 year or two and play backup for 2-3 more seasons beyond that. You may be able to bump his xp up to outstading by the end of the year, or you could convert him right away.
If you are going turn him into a coach, do it right before your first cup game of next season, so you can start reaping the PIC's and holding team spirit during the first couple of cup rounds. |
I thought they have to be on your squad for 16 weeks first?
|
However, to prevent "daytrading" of coaches-to-be, we have another restriction: The player must have been on your squad for a season (16 weeks) to be eligable to become coach. While it will still be possible (in principle) to purchase a player in order to make him coach for a little less, it will require more than a season's foresight, and we think that in that case it is OK. In fact, we think long-term planning should pay off.

Well, butter me up and call me stupid. I guess you're right. In that case, just hard track whoever you purchase playing them in both league games and cup matches, get as much XP as you can to make their coaching conversion more affordable. |
i don't know know how much this affects it, but I have a nasty coach, and a mostly pleasant players, and my TS falls very quickly. he is weak in leadership, which I am sure is a large part of it, but I think him being nasty may have something to do with it too. Once my cup run was done I drop 2 levels during the week.
|
/me grabs the butter
"Why are you running away stupid?" |

Weak leadership will do that. I had a guy last season that I couldn't keep TS spirit up with at all. He was weak for the first half of the season, then he dropped to poor. I don't know if demeanor plays into that or not. |
