Seems to put up 3.5 stars as a WTM, but I'll be using him as an IM.

Paid $327k - good, bad, average?

A- cause he is nasty, old and with weak leadership, else I'd say good buy

edit : i'm jealous

Like Manuel said, looks like a pretty good buy. Solid experience should give him a nice performance bonus. The combination of experience and set piece skill should be helpful for next year's Cup run.

Thanks guys - just was hoping to not be way off-base.:)

My team has the best combination of offense and defense, by far, in the series. There is one midfield that is better than us by a good deal, and two or three that are about equal. I'm hoping this will bring me closer to the midfield that is stronger, and give me a chance to cling to my 5-point lead and win the series title.

At this point last season, I was using three passable IM's, and now I've got three excellent IM's (two with experience) - so I think I've made strong progress.

Hopefully Mario will help me into Division IV and then we can make a decision on his future.

Whenever I see a "rate my buy" thread, I just scroll down just enough to look at the player and get a number in my head before seeing what the price was paid. The figure I had in my mind was $300K and that was before discovering he had solid exp so I'd say it's a pretty good buy.

Not a bad buy!
I'm looking at a younger player (so disastrous exp) but has solid l'ship (actually is a semi-clown) with excellent PM/inad passing and I'm expecting to pay slightly more....so particularly in that frame, not bad at all. :)

tk you always shop for clowns it seems :)

WAIT.. did u mention dixion? hmm i don't see it

RPI.. good buy :)

EDIT: I try to stay away from buying old players.. and try to think ahead so I'm usually not to good at pricing old players

terpkristin 05-01-2004 05:10 PM

Hahaha I shop for people with a good personality so not to kill TS. It turns out that I've either pulled our bought a few semi-clowns lately.

Nope, didn't mention the D-word in this post, though the kid I was bidding on went do a Swedish daytrader for 600k U$. Stupid daytraders. I hate them! That kid would have been a decent trainee (excellent PM/inad passing, only 19), but it was sort of obvious that the guy was a DT'er. Oh well.

And speaking of people, Hobbes, why you never on IM anymore?

P.S. I just realized this is my first sort of thread jack!

Thankyou Hobbes, for pointing out something that I think every time I see that D**** name.
