FOFC Nextel Cup Season 13
Daytona, FL - 42 teams and drivers have headed down to Daytona, Florida for the start of the FOFC Nextel Cup's 13th Season. And like always, there are a few major changes. Rewbie Newsday, one the best drivers on the FOFC circuit over the past 12 seasons has decided to call it quits after yet another second place finish in the season standings. His teammate, Rewbie Bluesday, has also decided to leave racing. Shorty, longtime driver of the #3 Mike's Hard Lemonade car will also no longer be racing on the series this season. While many faces won't be coming back, one familiar face has returned. After a one year hiatus, 3-Time champion Nick Phillips has decided to step back into the driver's seat. The familiar #51 Mello Yello car will once again be near the front of the pack. Ren Snow, driver of the #40 Coors Light car, kept up the family tradition last season by picking up the championship, the 7th in Snow history.
We have one the best rookie classes ever this season. 7 drivers will vie for the FOFC Nextel Cup Season 13 Rookie of the Year Title. Tom Northwood will be driving the #2 Metallica sponsored car. Danny Golden will drive the #3 Detroit Pistons Pontiac. David Gonzalez will have a new teammate this season, Alejandro Murrieta. Murrieta will drive the #21 Payday Chevrolet. Caesar Galamificon will be driving the #24 Navy car and will be teammates with Ardent Enthusiast. T.E. Almighty will be driving the #32 7UP car. Codge Daravan will take over the driving duties for the #46 car. The #46 car will no longer be sponsored by KaZaa, it is now sponsored by AMP. And Jesse Ewiak will be driving the #66 car which will be sponsored by the WWE. Season 13 Points Predicition 1. Mustafa Henderson - Henderson started last season very slowly. After 10 races he found himself way back in 30th. But a terrific second half of the season put him in 9th at the season's end. This will be the year Mustafa finally lives up to his ability and takes home the title. 2. Ren Snow - Everyone always knew Ren Snow had the skill to win the title. Last season he finally proved everyone right as he held off Rewbie Newsday just like his father had done before to take home the title. Another season near the top of the points standings is almost certain. 3. Billy Bushinhimer - One thing you can always count on is Billy Bushinhimer finishing near the front the season standings. Anyone driving a Phillips Racing car will always be a threat for the title. 4. Kai Collins - The former Snow Motorsports driver finally found success post SMI. The ChampCar Motorsports driver had a chance to take home the title in the last race last season but couldn't quite take the title. This season he should have a shot at the title coming right down to the last race again. 5. Nick Phillips - Even after missing one season Nick Phillips will almost certainly be challenging for a title. The FOFC's winningest driver of all-time will battle the young guns all season long. 6. Jeeber D Mack 7. Nick Phillips Jr. 8. Gold Golden 9. Sterling Silvers 10. David Gonzalez 11. David Yellope 12. Telle Snow 13. It's Craptacular 14. Sonny Daze 15. Jared Book 16. Kool Breeze 17. ![]() Here are the Daytona 500 predictions from our esteemed panel of racing experts. David Gonzalez - Gonzalez always seems to run well here at Daytona. Seeing him in victory lane at the end of the day would be no surprise. - TIGER WOODS - PRO GOLFERSonny Daze - Daze is probably the FOFC's best Superspeedway driver. He always dominates Speedweeks at Daytona and this year will be no different. - LEBRON JAMES - PRO BASKETBALL PLAYERPaul Tracy - Paul is a very good superspeedway driver. Last season he won the Pepsi 400 at Daytona, why can't he win the Daytona 500 then? - RUPEN FOFARIA - RPM.ESPN.COMAl Kaholic - Like his teammate Sonny Daze, Al is an excellent driver on the big tracks. He always runs near the front at Daytona and barring any wrecks he should be at the front at the end. - GEORGE W. BUSH - PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES L. Jon Silvers - Look for Silvers to take home the victory in the FOFC's biggest race. |
Daytona Testing Session #1

Daytona Testing Session #2
After posting the 5th fastest speed of the 1st session, Rookie Alejandro Murrieta posted the fastest time of the 2nd session, and of both sessions overall with a speed of 187.610 MPH. Another rookie, Jesse Ewiak posted the 2nd fastest time of the session. PHP Code:

well, hopefully this season won't be as ugly as last years.

Mustafa Henderson made the late pass on David Yellope to take the victory in the 4th annual Budweiser Shootout.

My car must be just plain awful.

Wow, last?
|
A possible pole in Murrieta's debut would be more than I ever could have imagined for my teammate. Hopefully the pressure of qualifying for the 500 will not take him off his line that has made him the best in practice.
On the other hand, I'm disappointed in my showing so far during practice. My crew needs to get the #15 Best Buy car back in the garage for some adjustments. |
Well, not a great start to the season for Blade...

BLEAH!
Lost out by .02? *grumbles grumbles* |
Rookie question: Does the starting grid go by the overall fastest time in either trial or by the average of the two, or what? Almighty was 10th in one trial and 40th in the other. Is that a bit odd or does it happen all the time?
|
I'll take a top five finish to start off the season... :)

![]() AJEM Racing pleased with Daravan's Daytona Debut After years of mediocraty, Antoine Jerome Evander Marriucci decided to give up his seat in the #46 AMP Energy Drink Dodge. Replacing him was the young Codge Daravan, of Gran Turismo fame. "Codge has really taken to the car. He's surprised us with how well he's adapted", said Marriucci. Daravan is a born and bred road racer and has competed in rallying, F1, and SCCA races. "I'm just hoping to bring AJEM Racing their first FOFC Nextel Cup win", Daravan commented. Success has been rare for AJEM Racing since joining the FOFC Cup series in season 8. The highest the team has ever finished in the points standings was 25th in season 9. The team recorded its top finish of 3rd twice. The first coming at Daytona in season 9 and the second coming last year at California. The highest the #46 car has ever started is 3rd, last year at Talladega. The team usually starts 25th or worse. In 5 seasons, the AJEM Racing car has led 30 laps, total. They also have 20 DNFs over the same time period. It will be a big job to turn this team around. |
Well here goes another season of suck! :)

Here here! |
Gold, does the game use the Twin 125's to set the starting grid for Daytona?
|
Excuse me, could I win a race since it is my birthday? :)
|
Quote:
Nope, just regular qualifying. |
Quote:
No unfortunately, the game is limited in that it follows the same qualification style for all races, even though daytona has a unique setup, Practice, Qualifying , happy hour, Race no twin 125's to set the field in the simulation, sorry. Ren |
Race #1: Daytona 500
Daytona 500
There were plenty of lead changes throughout the day at Daytona like always. All you wanted was to put yourself in position to win at the end. And for the 3rd time in 4 years, it was Maximus Meridus who took the checkered in the Daytona 500. This time he barely held off It's Craptacular and Gold Golden for the win. Heading off turn 4 it looked like Craptacular had enough momentum to pass Meridus but Meridus held him off going down the frontstretch. PHP Code:

Wow...that was bad...

The results from Las Vegas will be up today. |
Yay, a 9th place finish for me :)

Rookie Alejandro Murietta was in the perfect position at the perfect time. A great call by his crew chief had him still out on the track when a caution flag flew during green flag pit stops. His car was the only one that still had to pit. He was the only one left on the lead lap at that point. But clearly he did not have the best car 30 cars regained their laps back eventually as Murietta was hung out on the high side as the only lead lap car. None of that mattered though as Murietta was the first to take the checkered and pick up the win in his second race.
Billy Bushinhimer ended the day in 2nd. Nick Phillips looks just like he did before his retirement as he finished 3rd. It's Craptacular picks up his second straight Top Five as he finishes 4th. Blade Tokuanaga comes back from the bad day at Daytona to finish 5th. Rookie T.E. Almighty finished the day 8th. Jesse Ewiak, 14th, and Codge Daravan, 17th, were the other rookies in the Top Twenty. Despite winning the pole and leading the most laps with 109, Mustafa Henderson finished a disapointing 30th. Kai Collins, who started 5th and led 55 laps, finished 25th. Ren Snow followed up his 40th place finish at Daytona with a 42nd place finish. That's not the way the Season 12 Champion envisioned his Season 13 starting. PHP Code:

Gold,
Is there some secret ratings that make a driver do well early on and choke later on? Same thing happened last year. |
AJEM Racing is pleased with Codge Daravan's performance so far. If he didn't have to fight his way through the field at Las Vegas, we could've had a top 10.
|
Not a bad start for Phillips Racing. We arent known to start very strong, but we usually finish strong so what happens now doesn't mean to much to us. Nick Phillips should vie for the championship in his first season back.
|
RendeR,
Quick question. I was wondering if you knew who the champions of Season's 1-5 were. I'm not quite sure. I remember for Season 2 we had a split field so I don't know who won each title there. This is what I thought it might have been. Season 1 - Vince Cressio Season 2 Div 1. - Chris Snow - Season 2 Div. 2 - ??? Season 3 - Chris Snow Season 4 - Chris Snow Season 5 - Chris Snow |
FC Racing is very excited over the results from Las Vegas. The gutsy call that crew chief Daniel Adkinson made to help Murrieta go from 42nd to 1st in only his 2nd FOFC Cup race will not go unnoticed in the offseason. I finished 15th and have still not shown my form from last season.
|
well that last race was pretty ugly..... Hopefully I'll start doing better though...
|
Both Jeeber and Jobu in the top 15, not too bad. Maybe this is the year that Jobu gets that win that he had taken from him last season... ;)
|
T.E. is at least guaranteed not to end the season as the only driver without a top 10 finish at least once. :)
|
Wow... Come off a 12th place with a broken gearbox in Las Vegas. Sigh..
Nice site btw, Gold. |
Well, at least one of my drivers had a good day...
|
Another stellar start to the season. Whoo.
