Well, the blog link in the news story is already a dead link...I'd bet it's not him.

I like how it talks about an interview with ABC, yet I have seen no such interview.

in the blog he says that they wouldn't touch the story with a 10 foot pole.

I wouldn't be surprised but who knows. The blog has some good reading at least.

I think Andy Kaufman would have more creativity than to make his huge return on a blog.

That's the beauty of it, we'll never know for sure. If he was really dying way back when, and knew it, then he had the opportunity to set this whole thing up with one or two people. And his family is likely in on it, at least from the standpoint that they probably wouldn't give proof that it's him or not, or even if they did, maybe they're doing it to honor a dying man's wish?

There are so many possibilities, no one will ever know the truth. And that's exactly what he (or whomever is doing this) wants.

Andy Kaufman once said that if he died at an early age he was more than likely faking it. The only way anyone would know is when he re-appeared 20 years later. (or something close)

Frankly...I think hes dead and that this guy is either an imposter or his buddy Bob. First Impression only of course. No one would ever put anything like that past Kaufman. Weird mother there.

so he's achieved immortality, then.

It's pretty clear that his purpose in "returning" is not really to return, but to keep everyone guessing. If he wanted to announce this whole thing as a joke and end it, he'd be far more public about it. No, the joke is meant to continue - either he's had his laughs about how this would play out 20 years ago before he died, or he's still living and laughing about it now.

With the "advances" in investigative reporting over the past 20 years, you'd think someone could break this story one way or the other. I can't imagine some young Geraldo-wannabe wouldn't want to have this on his resume. That the big news agencies are content to leave well enough alone doesn't surprise me, but all it takes is a few independent, hungry reporters to expose this one way or the other.

Kaufman was a better writer than this hack.

I was just going to post exactly what Snopes said. Changing the name of the auditor and interviewer from a press release that you issued sends off bells. Duh.

They showed a picture of Zmuda in the Tony Clifton gear @ the Kaufman return party...and now all the pictures of Kaufman floating around look just like Zmuda in the Clifton character.

For once, I agree with Cam...

Kaufman would have done it in a much more creative manner than simply posting a blog. The man was a genius...

The fact that it is even considered as a possiblity for more than a second is amazing.
