How will your team fare this season (predictions)

I see my 49ers going 6-10.

FBPro 05-23-2004 08:07 AM

Falcons 10-6
Titans 10-6

Tekneek 05-23-2004 08:14 AM

Dolphins 11-5 and lose their first playoff game.

Super Ugly 05-23-2004 08:20 AM

Jets 7-9.

Noop 05-23-2004 08:23 AM

For NFL I generally don't have a team. But I'll say the Dolphins

Dolphins 13-3 and win the super bowl.

College Football
Miami 9-2 They lose to Clemson, and either Virgina or G.Tech
Florida State 10-1 National Champions, Only Lost to Miami. And they again start the 2005-2006 with a lost to Miami again.

Side note - We could have two national champions again this season.

Philliesfan980 05-23-2004 08:25 AM

Eagles Season:

Week 1: Giants : W
Week 2: Vikings : W
Week 3: @ Lions : W (will be tougher than expected)

Week 7 : Ravens :L
Week 8 : @ Steelers : L
Week 9 : @ Cowboys : W

Week 13 : @ Redskins : W

ditto. I also think they will be 7-5 or 7-6 and lose the last 3 or 4 straight after looking at the schedule. It should be a classic Jets collapse.

I hope it is not enough to save Edwards and Bradway's job. Until they clean house, there isn't even a chance this team will win a championship.

edit: and Rutgers goes 7-4 and makes a bowl game.

ice4277 05-23-2004 08:40 AM

I see the Lions going about .500, give or take one. So, I will go with 8-8, then the following year, make a strong run at the playoffs.

VPI97 05-23-2004 08:49 AM

Falcons: 9-6 - Missing the playoffs
VT Hokies - 12-1 - Losing in the Nat'l Championship game

Can I hear your reason behind this?

JonInMiddleGA 05-23-2004 09:44 AM

Falcons 7-9, maybe 8-8 if Vick plays all 16, 5-11 if he doesn't.
Colts -- I'll just take a wild stab without looking at the schedule & say 10-6.

sooner333 05-23-2004 09:57 AM

Oklahoma: 13-0, Big XII, Orange Bowl, and National Champions
Northwestern: 6-6, hopefully going to a bowl, probably won't. If Basanez doesn't suck so bad we could be okay with our dominating lines on both sides of the ball.

49ers: Not very good, but I still like Rattay.

clintl 05-23-2004 10:02 AM

I just hope Rattay recovers from his injury and can play. I don't think Dorsey is ready yet.

sabotai 05-23-2004 10:14 AM

I think the Giants will go about 8-8 if whoever the QB is doesn't struggle. If he does, 6-10.

They only play two challenging games all season - USC in the opener (in D.C.) and at Miami.

We have more experience returning than USC and it's going to essentially be a home game. I think we take it in a close game. Miami still doesn't have a QB and we torched them last season. We'll take that game easily.

Dutch 05-23-2004 10:24 AM

This Bucs are trying to redefine themselves as we speak. So either they go 12-4 or 4-12....probably closer to the average (8-8)

I think the Falcons are the big "on paper" champions going into this season in the division.

But knowing how wacky the NFL is, Carolina and New Orleans will probably be the 2 teams fighting to the finish...

I guess things will be going so bad that they just don't even play the 16th game of the season? ;)

korme 05-23-2004 10:40 AM

Bengals 8-8

Ben E Lou 05-23-2004 10:46 AM

Falcons: 9-7 (miss playoffs)

Dawgs: 12-1 (one regular season loss, win SEC Championship and Bowl Game)

Tigers: 11-2 (Valiant season despite loss of class with 6 D-1 players. Depends on how brackets fall out, but a loss somewhere around the q-finals.)

cartman 05-23-2004 10:54 AM

Cowboys 9-7
Longhorns 12-1 (and the loss won't be to OU)

cartman 05-23-2004 10:55 AM

Dola,

It'll be good to be back in the US this fall. I've really missed watching live football these past couple of years!

Noop 05-23-2004 11:32 AM

So if we have all these one lost teams in college football who will be the champion? Texas in my opinion will lose at least two games, Virgina Tech three, OU well I haven't been impressed but I see you guys making a run for the title. USC is the only team i know for sure who will play for the title unless Washington State knocks them out other then that it is a smooth ride.

Desnudo 05-23-2004 11:56 AM

Yankees 40-122

Patriots 20-0 (they also single handledy beat the NFC in the Pro Bowl in a revised format)

Bubba Wheels 05-23-2004 11:59 AM

Lions 10-6, playoff spot.

JAG 05-23-2004 12:12 PM

At this point, I'd say Cowboys 9-7 (miss playoffs).

Radii 05-23-2004 12:25 PM

Panthers 10-6, losing in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Don't know enough about college football, go yellow jackets, sort of, but if they lose, eh, who cares.

UNC basketball: 24-8, back in the NCAA tournament for good, and challenging Duke for the ACC title.

Cringer 05-23-2004 12:32 PM

Yet to dissect the schedule, but I will say the Packers go 10-6 and squeek out the NFC North title again........

The_herd 05-23-2004 12:33 PM

The Bears are a tought team to call, but I'm going to say 7-9 again. The difference this time being the team is improving and is headed in a direction that isn't backwards.

Antmeister 05-23-2004 12:36 PM

Chargers will finally have a non-losing season.

That will be 8-8 and no playoffs.

Karlifornia 05-23-2004 12:51 PM

Giants 78-84, Robb Nen retires.

49ers: 7-9 (wishful thinking)

Stanford football: 5-6

Stanford basketball: We'll see

Wow. This year is really going to be mediocre.

Greyroofoo 05-23-2004 01:12 PM

Colts 19-0

My reasoning? Just because.....

miami_fan 05-23-2004 01:14 PM

Dolphins- 11-5
Hurricanes Football- TBD have not really gotten into analyzing the ACC yet.
Hurricanes Basketball- If they win 10 games, Frank Haith deserves Coach of the Year :(
Marlins- 89-73 if Burnett can come back and give them a solid second half
Heat- Well Still begging for someone to take Eddie Jones and Brian Grant off the roster :D

Travis 05-23-2004 01:16 PM

Seahawks, somewhere around the 10-6, 11-5 mark, hopefully reaching the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs.

Dude, no offense, but I don't think you'll be with in 24 of USC

I'll take that bet in a heartbeat. With USC trotting out three new starters on the offensive line, VT's defense should be in Leinart's face all game. It'll be a repeat of our game with Miami last year.

ScottVib 05-23-2004 01:52 PM

UConn 7-4 first ever appearence in a bowl game. (Second ever Postseason appearence)
Giants not good. (dont want to put a number on it)

Easy Mac 05-23-2004 02:11 PM

49ers - 3-13
Furman - 14-1, national champs, only loss to Pitt.

part of that "4" had better be a loss to Rutgers. :)

VPI will lose at least two games in their last five games of the season:

at Ga. Tech
at UNC
Maryland
Virginia
at Miami

As for my teams:

Falcons: 9-7
Ga Tech: 6-5
Harvard: 7-3
Tucker: 8-2 and we'll see what happens in the play-offs.

I don't see the Packers or Steelers beating them. I do see them splitting with Washington though. 13-3

Noop 05-23-2004 02:50 PM

Is it me or we have alot of philly fans on this board?

SteelerFan448 05-23-2004 04:26 PM

Steelers will win their division and then go on to win the Super Bowl. My prediction never changes.

JeeberD 05-23-2004 04:41 PM

Cowboys: 9-7

Gonna be a bit of a step backwards this year with a young O-line and teams learning how to really slow down our passing game towards the end of last year.

UTEP: 4-7

Certainly going to be better than last year, but we lost a lot of talent on the O-line. We still haven't found a starting QB yet with three guys fighting for that spot. Defense should be much improved, and that should make at least a two win difference...

The AFC North is Bengals v Ravens again, Pittsburgh has too many holes to fill on both side of the ball, Cleveland is a ship without a sail right now.

The key to this division title is the QB situation in both Baltimore and Cincinnati, the ravens just lost their primary backup for most of the season to surgery, so they really have to hope that their "QB of the future" gets his shit together this year.

CIncinnati of course lives and dies on Carson Palmer's play this year, I'm betting he's the real deal, Bengals win 10 possibly 11 games with a majorly ugraded defense protecting them from his mistakes.

Bengals win the division Ravens fight for a wild card and fall short.

Bengals win one playoff game then falter due to inexperience.

LOL:D

That's the funniest thing I've heard all day:D

There's no way in hell either of them happen

tucker342 05-23-2004 05:20 PM

dola-

NFL: 49ers - I would be happy if they went 6-10:(

College Football: Iowa - Probably 10-3 and in the top 4 in the Big Ten.

Nope... we'll make it 3 straight on Thanksgiving. (Hopefully early enough where I can do the drive to NJ, watch the game, go home and get my turkey) :p

Actually UConn's schedule matches up very nicely to win at least 7, barring an injury to Dan Orlovsky. If Orlovsky goes down, I'd expect a much worse performance (of course I expected that last year when Caulley went down against VPI). I expect UConn to be favored at Rutgers this year... and win, but it will be a lot tougher then expected.

That said I'm rooting for Rutgers in every game except for Thanksgiving, if both teams can continue to develop, then the Big East's future in football is a lot brighter then people think.

thealmighty 05-23-2004 06:13 PM

Cowboys: to early to bother looking (hockey isn't over yet)

TCU: to early to bother looking (hockey isn't over yet)

mtaystl03 05-23-2004 09:55 PM

Rams 17-2 Super Bowl Champs. Period.
