That's a pretty old story. If I remember, there's a book and he did the talk show circuit in the mid or late 90's

I didn't realize that he had posted this to Barnes & Noble.com. It would have been a better read as a journal where you could get updates to the story as it went along. That's how it appears that it was originally published. I'm just bitching because I should have read this while I was at home, not while I was at work. Obviously if I thought the story sucked, I would have stopped reading after the first page.

So why rip the author for a lack of brevity? I doubt his target audience was "people who want something to read at work."

I like the summary format and I found the story engrossing. Once it's over, there's no need to maintain a diary format. Give me a beginning, a middle, and an end.

This thread has scared me into not reading the link.

It's a great story worth your time. But make sure you have an hour or so to read it.

An hour? How slow do you guys read? ;)

You can get through it in twenty, thirty minutes tops.
