Best Buy stores across the country reportedly slashed prices to 4.99 on a wide variety of older games to clear out room for newer games. Some very good games are on the list. Here is a link to the Gamespot story with a reported list of the games that are available at a reduced price:

I'm going to make a trip to my local best buy after work tomorrow to see if I can get lucky and find a few games I might want to check out for the X-BOX.

Gladius and Freedom Fighters are both really good games that I picked up for not much money and had fun with. I really need to grab NCAA 2004 for that price.

Freedom Fighters is definitely one of the games I plan on looking for tomorrow. I just hope my local Best Buy isn't sold out of all of the games I want.

I know where I'm going after my doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon.

Im betting a bunch of the EBAY types bought up a lot of this stock already.

Crap. I'm stuck because I don't think there is any way I could get to Best Buy through the chemical gas cloud.

For the xbox I would recommend:

Amped, ESPN football, Jet Set Radio Future, Freedom Fighters and The Thing if you haven't played any of them.

Woohoo! I'm off to Best Buy now. I already called and they're out of ESPN football though :(

Well I ran by two Best Buy stores. One of them said "we never carried any of those games anyway", and the other had apparently forgotten to mark all of the games that were on sale as being on sale. After calling my girlfriend and having her read off every game for PS2 and Xbox I went and found all of 2 games in stock. Aggresive Inline and The Thing, both for Xbox. I picked up The Thing, figuring since it was a great movie the game couldn't be THAT bad. So I only got 1 game out of the deal, better than nothing.

I didnt even bother to go to mine cause I have a GC, and honestly Id never seen any of those games there in awhile, except for maybe NCAA 2004. But 2005 is out so soon.

Went to my local Best Buy today - they had a whole two games left at $4.99. Oh well, thanks for the info anyway.

Glad some of you at least picked up a few games. I went to mine at noon today and they were completely sold out of all of the X-Box games I wanted to try. They were sold out of the PS2 games I wanted as well.
