As you go about your business today, please take a moment to remember those who died for the freedom of others. The Great Crusade is worth remembering, even 60 years later.

I know about WWII but what is the crusade?

60 years ago today, one of my grandfathers touched earth with the 101st.

He and those who were with him are in my thoughts.

A crusade is an assault/attack based on a belief, usually religious in context. The Great Crusade being the logicistical nightmare that was the Crossing of the English Channel, back into France.

One of my mother's uncles was in the 101st and died in France during the invasion...
