reminder: fake 17 year old youth pulls
just a reminder, next week if people post a 17 year old player before the age updates, that player will show as 17 in the search screens despite being 18 now.
jerks love to list 17 (soon to be 18) year old excellents an hour before the age updates at a million dollars and wait for people to bid on them thinking they are superstar first week youth pulls after the age update. so always double check the age on the players details screen, dont trust the search screens age. |
True dat. Don't be a sucker.
|
And if you see it happen, report it to the GMs -- it would certainly fall into the area where the GMs have discretion to dock the excess transfer price from the seller's economy.
|
Well, thanks, I was gonna post my 17 yr old formida....... just kidding, he has the U-20 potential for Argentina and he stays.
Yeah, keep your heads up guys. |

ha, probably not a good choice to put on the wire at the end of the week. you might get some upset emails :) although if you start the guy out at a low price and someone bids it up to 1 million, i dont see how a GM could do much. it would be the bidders mistake. actually its the development teams mistake since they wont run a script to update the ages of people on the transfer wire database. |
I love this guy anyways. He's not getting transfer until he's in his 20's
|
I don't think that problem exists anymore. You can't pull new youthies until after the age update. And last season I believe they refershed the transfer list at that time as well so you clearly saw who was 17 and who was 18.

Being I'd like to buy an 18 year old like that, no. |

Pretty sure you're wrong there TP. I saw plenty of "fake" 17-yo's listed last offseason. I know because I was actively looking for a new trainee. |
I don't remember coming across any a couple seasons ago when I was buying trainees.
Edit: Not saying you're wrong. I could very well have a bad memory. I just thought that's what they did and was one of the reasons they moved the youth pull date... |

Hopefully people will want to buy my middies at 18 when they get to excellent next season (just popped my 3rd 17 y/o playmaker to solid this week!). |

Edit: And I think the window is probably considerably larger in other countries. |

that solved another problem with somehow not aging previous weeks youth pulls. this issue is that the transfer wire information is cached on a different db server than the normal player information. they run the scripts to update ages on the normal player information, but the they dont run the same script on the cached transfer wire info. so the player ages, but it doesnt show he did on the search page. so people see a 17 year old for a million bucks, they assume its a awesome youth pull and bid. they dont take time to read the players actual information where they place the bid though. |

Oh, that problem's definitely been fixed by the youth pull lockdown. In fact, I thought it was the raison d'etre for the youth pull lockdown. I thought YPs unlocked at the stroke of HT midnight Sunday afternoon, even though that's a little before age'n'wage, because the problem was the two different YPs, pulled on the same day, with the same age, and one would get older and one wouldn't.

depends on secondaries and how much. :) |
Actually Mr. W, I believe you can pull them at 0:45 HT time on Sunday.
