Just noticed this. Has anyone tried it with the new patch?

Patch 1.41 is now on the server. I'm still not 100% sure on how the longterm player development will behave and if it will add some additional uncertainty to younger players developing. Based on what I have seen and on what the testers have told me, it appears that it is working to this point.

Here's the download:

Now, for the surprise. I've also redone much of the mapping on the scouting databases for the college cards. This means that you shouldn't see players with no scouting comments and should see fewer with crazy contradictions. There may still be a little redundency from time to time (ie, Player has great speed. Player can really extend the defense on deep routes.). But, for the most part, I think you guys will find the changes as a nice improvement. Nearly all comments now have a meaning and point to (sometimes indirectly) a positive or deficiency for the player. You can also rename this from pconfig.dat to config.dat and overwrite your current save games. If you do this, the next batch of draftees will have the new comment mapping. Just be careful as it will overwrite the name database, injuries and city database as well. If you have modified the DB in the past, simple overwrite the Scout tables in your version with this one. As an aside, I've also made a few changes to make the injuries a little more realistic as well. Some of the images in TPF with questionable origins were fixed as well.

Here's the new DB (just unzip it to your main TPF folder):

Here's the changes in the latest patch:

- Fixed a rare crash that occurred when clicking Accept or Decline for RFA offers (mostly in multiplayer leagues).

- In multiplayer leagues, all remaining RFA offer sheets that have not been dealt with by the time the week is advanced get cleared out.

- The AI will no longer reset gameplans for human teams in multiplayer leagues.

- Changed Multiplayer reports to all use a median scouting range for attributes regardless of the team selected or the commissioner's team.

- Added an option for commish's to delete all emails more than two weeks old to help prune DBs in the offseason.

- All human teams now get unique "Final Draft Notes".

- You must be logged in as the commissioner in order to start or continue the draft in multiplayer leagues.

- Information on both a college player's endurance and durability are now on the draft player card.

- Improved the trade AI and player development. You should see slower development for high picks with slightly more busting. There are also slightly more mid-round "booms" (4-6 rounds).

- Fixed some in-game AI and lingering penalty issues.

- Your lineup now reverts back to your initial depth chart once the game completes. So, even if your entire starting offense suffers career ending injuries, they will all be in the same spot as they were prior to the game. If you try and start the game with injured players (out or worse) you will get a message.

- Added an option to move a player from the FA pool to a team with their existing contract. This is to give the commish another option if an import issue forces a player that was signed to enter the FA pool.

I tried several times to get into TPF, but I think it's just not for me. For those who enjoy it, hey more power to ya.

I also had trouble getting into the game, although the draft was awesome. I might give it another try once they release the new demo option.

I updated late last week, for our multiplayer league.

It's good to see the game get a 'final' patch.. I might try this one again.

If you guys bought the game before and are just updating, I would highly recommend updating your pconfig.dat. I didn't include it in the actual update because of all the mods out there, but I think the newly mapped scouting comments make the draft even more enjoyable.

I'll download the update and fire it up again...I only played it a few times, but in my mind, it was well worth the money if TPF 2 is good. Support the small developers!

I went ahead and decided to re-install TPF, with the latest patch. So far, the scouting/draft thing is a pleasant surprise!
