X-COM II: Agents' Choice Voting Thread!
 

Welcome to the thread for agents to vote for their fellow agents to take the trip to Mars. At stake are two spots on the Skyranger. They'll go to the two agents that garner the most votes.

To vote, you must be an active agent, in-transit to becoming one, or currently on the waiting list.

Each voter can vote for two agents. You cannot make two votes for the same person. You cannot vote for yourself. You may only vote for one agent if you don't feel like voting for two.

The voting will end at midnight CST on June 23. That gives us about 30 hours.

For the sake of making tallies easier, please vote like this:

2. Betty Schmoe

You can vote by posting directly in this thread. If for some reason you want to vote privately, send me the votes via private message and post "Voted Privately" in this thread.

Please feel free to use this thread for arguing your case to your fellow agents. Campaign speeches are allowed. Feel free to bribe, blackmail, or wheedle votes as you see fit.

When voting, consider that the fate of the Earth rests on your shoulders. All those cute babies are depending on you!

Why vote for Ardent?

Well, I'm enthusiastic, and I'm sure no one here can argue that. Yes, I was an advocate for some of your deaths, but only in the most joking matter possible. I mourned for every one of your fathers that passed on. Honestly, who hear on the waiting list didn't secretly want others to die?

Why vote for me? I'm a key figure in an ongoing government charade. An annoyance to my superiors. A joke among my peers. "Ardent," they call me. Ardent Enthusiast. Whose sister was abducted by aliens when he was a kid. Who now chases little green men with a gun, shouting to the heavens and anyone who'll listen that the fix is in. That our government's hip to the truth and a part of the conspiracy. That the sky is falling and when it hits it's gonna be the shitstorm of all time.

Vote for me. I shouldn't be allowed to carry a gun. You can make that happen.

My votes: CW II and Raven Hawk II. After all, I know both personally.

I vote for Fat Football II, since his Psi Defense is through the roof, and he does have some experience.

I also vote for Quikshot II since his Psi Defense is pretty decent.

I'll cast a vote for the Afoci and for Ravenhawk2. I realize that we haven't seen a PSI defense rating for RH2, but I figure lets roll the dice on someone who has been an active participant in the thread for the long run.

I would have voted for DVH if not for his low PSI rating. But I think that brings up another topic. I would hope to see good agents with weaker PSI ratings rewarded with the unarmed slots rather than making that an "agent you would most like to see dead" role. There is a chance (slim, but possible) that the unarmed guys will survive this encounter and if I came down to it I would rather be in that role than sitting at home guarding the base. Just my unsolicited two cents.

Vote for JeeberD! He's got a good psi defense rating, and he has the arm of a youthful Dan Marino. Ten kills in only 13 missions speaks for itself, folks... :)

First off thanks for the votes for those of you who have voted for me. I'd definitly like to build a RHII storyline that takes him to Mars. :)

1. CWII (His low psi defense rating scares me some, but you can't argue with his kills per mission)
2. Afoci (Solid stats plus a very good psi defense)

I came really close to making JeeberD my commander's choice. Then I remembered that he is a Cowboys fan... :p

I voted by PM...so don't count my vote twice GB.

I was also torn on CW. I instead went with Afoci and Quikshot.

1. Raven Hawk II-he and his father (or is it clone?) has certainly been the one to get most in "character" during the long run of this dynasty and I think on that basis alone deserves a spot on the mission.

and read the final mission if nothing else ;)

Here's my reasoning...

Real Deal should go because either A) he's super smart (judging by his manhandling of the X-Com exam) and therefore his intellect would be an asset, or B) he has so much time on his hands that he can skip even bathing to reflect on the X-Com questions, therefore he should go to Mars as he clearly needs to get out more.

I also think FF Froggies should go because of the Disney-esqe storyline building up here. An X-Com agent, incompetent with the rifle throughout his career due to a complete lack of marksmanship, makes the one shot in a million on Mars that single-handedly saves humankind. Then the movie closes with some Elton John song. A true underdog story!

My 2 cents. Not that I even have that much after my hooker/crack binge. I need some aspirin, and most likely some sort of antibiotic.
