I believe, the specific phrase was coined when a joke picture with a song was posted(along with a thread title saying something like "the funniest thing ever" IIRC), and most members voiced that said animation was not funny at all. Shorty somehow must have found the animation as funny as the original poster, for he defended it by calling virtually everyone on the thread "fucking elitists" At least thats the first time I can remember Shorty using it.

I believe you are mistaken young grasshopper. Shorty's use of the term predated IHOF by a large margain. Now apologize before I punish you with a trout to the rectum.

It is definitely a Shorty quote, and I think it came in some thread as part of one of his misguided defenses of some Troll of the Week.

Remember, IHOF was loosely formed on October 20th of last year.

And a search for "fucking elitist" posts puts 11/10 as the first date (although the thread has Shorty explaining rules about calling people this vile term. The first time I saw it was Shorty whining about not getting an IHOF invitation).

I can see where you would get confused about the date of the IHOF - it did start play about six months after forming. :)

Can anyone actually track down the original post? The closest thing I can find was my referencing it here, and Shorty correcting me. This was in mid-November last year. I recall his post being very fresh (within two weeks) at the time I posted the now-famous term.

yeah, look it up yourself. It's the thread "some recent e-mails" in the IHOF forum. SkyDog posted it after a couple emails were sent back and forth that evening.

1. Technically, IHOF's beginnings should be traced to the day that FOF2K4 was announced. When I go the word that FOF2K4 was on the way, I immediately prepared a PM which I sent to 15-20 people who I wanted to play against. I sent that PM a few minutes after Jim posted the announcement (a month or so before the release). I don't recall the actual date, but that could be easily found.

2. I believe the "funniest thing ever" post was where the term originated. I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with IHOF.

I could have sworn this one was right. Somebody got sent to the Penalty Box and SHorty felt it wasn't justified. When a bunch of old-timers stuck up for SD, Shorty called them "Fucking elitists"...

That may have been the Mrs Skippy banning that he protested.

i have to give credit to cthomer for carrying this gimmick for me, as you can see by searching, i haven't used it much. misewell start up again. but i had a running gag where i posted it nearly in every thread for a little bit, and skydog sent me a pm or something along the lines of 'stop that', and so i, well, did i guess. heh.
