FOFC Team Rankings

hey..just curious when the FOFC team rankings are updated?...it's a really awesome part of the site, keep up the great job...only problem i have with it is that i wasn't the #1 top mover ;)

FrogMan 07-05-2004 06:50 PM

thanks for the kind words :)

Rankings are updated once a week, usually after the Cup matches have been played, so at some point between Thursday and Sunday ;)

do you average the Cup and League Game ratings, or how do you determinte the rating?...also, what does "exper" indicate...i'm ranked 27th, but everyone around me seems to have a higher "exper"...

The better of the 2 counts toward your rating.

wow, you posted right when i edited, haha...thanks for the response, could you tell me what "exper" stands for?...and is the rating still midfieldx3, plus all the other ratings?...one last thing, and thats that i notice that LW is far lower for everyone than TW, how come?...sorry to be asking questions that im guessing have very simple answers, but i'm not familiar with these rankings yet..

The_herd 07-05-2004 08:11 PM

I actually don't know what the "exper" is. LW is lower than TW for everone because the match ratings changes forced Frogman to change the ratings system he uses. For example it is now:

disastrous (very low) = 1
disatrous (low) = 1.5,
disatrous (high) = 2
disatrous (very high) = 2.5

And midfield is still x3.

experience is how long you have had a HT team, iirc.

JDurden11 07-05-2004 08:27 PM

damn, you guys are quick with these responses :) i don't know about that being "exper" though, mine is 60 and i've been playing since may 2003..

We have no lives...:D

And the 60 is weeks played. may '03 - present = 60 weeks.

wow, awesome...i'm pretty high up when i look at the XP for the teams near me in the standings...cool man..

FrogMan 07-05-2004 09:08 PM

okay, looks like all the questions have been answered :)

exper is indeed the number of weeks you've had your team.

LW and TW stand for "last week" and "this week" respectively. Since the last rankings that I computed were for week 22.14, thus pre-6.6.2, they are based on the old scale where disastrous=1, wretched=2, etc. Now, with the new scale, we have "disastrous (very low)"=1, "disastrous (low)"=2, and so on, adding 1 for every substep. A tiny bit different than what The_herd said.

LW is then indeed lower than TW, but it is for everyone. Starting this week, both LW and TW will be on the same scale...

Also, I always take the best between league and cup for any given week. Friendly matches don't count toward the rankings. Also, if your team has a walkover in league play and you are still in the Cup, your Cup ratings will be taken by default. If you're out of the Cup, that week ratings will be taken out of the weighed average. See the thread for the week 23.01 rankings for more explanation regarding the weighed average.
