We are resuming the league after a short hiatus and have a few open spots. I am hoping to sim by this weekend. Teams with blanks are open and you can join as a member of that team. The paranthesis (sp?) are people who havent confirmed yet. If you would like a team that is open, just post in this thread and it will be first come, first serve. For the other teams, they'll have til Wednesday by 10am PST to claim their team and the people on the waiting list will get first dibs on the newly available teams. Chinaski and myself will be running things, with Chinaski doing more of the technical aspect. We will be using BOSI 6.0 when it becomes available.

Message Boards We don't have a website up quite yet though, Mstay and Chinaski are trying to finish those issues up.

Real or fictional rosters? What season are you in? What's the sim schedule?

JeeberD 07-12-2004 07:24 PM

First season (we're only abut three sims in), real rosters. I've forgotten the sim schedule right now...

I'm sure that if you do a search on "DKBL" you can find all sorts of info... :)

MrBug708 07-12-2004 07:24 PM

Real, still the first season in the month of May, and 3 days a week sim schedule. Details I know....

mauchow 07-12-2004 07:26 PM

I'd be willing to take San Diego or the mets, in that order..

Thanks :)

TitanCenterField is my AIM if you need me for more stuff.

chinaski and mrbug708 have done a great job getting things going again... and with patch 6.03, we should be all set for a fun league.

Mucho agreedo. The forum and site as of now are awesome and I know chinaski and Kyle are still plugging away.

I have great hopes for the DKBL. The first and only other online league I was in had a hiccup at a similar point in the inaugural season and I think you could argue that pound-for-pound the RWBL is one of the strongest leagues around. Perhaps it's a good omen! :)

The_herd 07-12-2004 09:16 PM

I'm concerned about the 3 sims a week schedule. I really want to put a lot of focus on the the HFL. However, although I've never played OOTP in MP, I am assuming its not quite as time consuming as FOF.

Is this correct?

MrBug708 07-12-2004 09:19 PM

It does depend of course. You can pour over stats and the like, but if your day to day question is Beltran or Lane, who would you really start? I don't export before every sim and if you had a good sim with no major injuries, it shouldn't take that much tinkering.

Eaglesfan27 07-12-2004 09:19 PM

It can be as time consuming as you make it. Some people spend hours examing their line-ups, some just a few minutes.

The nice thing is the export process is more efficient than FOF and doesn't take the extra steps of emailing or otherwise sending the file.

MrBug708 07-12-2004 09:19 PM

Just post on the board under the teams thread Mauboy....

3 sims a week is pretty darn standard. As I'm sure is true in FOF, there is a pretty strong correlation to how much time you put into your team and how successful your team is. If you put in a half-hour per week, you'll probably get buried. Hard to say, but I'd guess I put in a couple of hours a week easily in my OOTP league, if not more. I've never really stopped to count it.

MrBug708 07-12-2004 09:24 PM

Dude, I put in about 10 minutes a week in RWBL, look at how I've done?

I've never spent more than a half hour a week on my teams and I've had some pretty good teams in some very tough leagues.

sovereignstar 07-12-2004 11:41 PM

Good luck with the league guys. I sincerely mean it.

Vince 07-13-2004 12:58 AM

The_Herd - OOTP leagues are WAY less time consuming than FOF leagues, simply because of the game. OOTP = less than 40 people on the roster. FOF = 50-70 people on the roster at any given time. FOF = 16 games...therefore each one means a ton. OOTP = 162 games...therefore we sim multiple games at a time.

In my opinion, an OOTP league is about 1/3rd the work of an FOF league to put the same amount of work into it.

MrBug708 07-13-2004 01:14 AM

Hey Vince you are a NorCal guy, why not the Giants in case Sooner333 doesn't want back in?

3ric 07-13-2004 03:29 AM

I can be New York.

Thanks. Sorry about my previous comments.

Vince 07-13-2004 12:08 PM

Mr. Bug - While I am a huge Giants fan...I've never managed a multiplayer AL team, and I want to have a few games against the Blue Jays per year...try to develop a rivalry :)

pennywisesb 07-13-2004 04:12 PM

I'm not so sure you want that rivalry Vince, because I don't think it will be much of a rivalry with me winning all the time.

Josh

MrBug708 07-13-2004 05:55 PM

Pennywise, not with you gutting your team.

I also figured out who the pitcher was in that trade....IM me on AIM and we'll finish it.
