OT: Ryan Perrilloux commits to Texas
Increasing the odds that he signs with the Longhorns from 10% to 25%.
|
he is supposedly a Vincent Young who can pass accurately, right?
|
Well, Vincent Young was tremendously accurate in high school. I'll leave that to others to interpret.
Perrilloux is a better thrower and a worse runner. But by no means bad at running. |
like yeah doodz
|
Texas = Bermuda Triangle of college football. Good players go in but rarely to they come out.

So by the time he's done at Texas he'll be able to run, and that'll be it, right? |

Exactly. |
When Texas gets a new head coach, I will start to care............
|
Sounds like a good player, but everyone is looking for the "athlete". His pictures make him seem to small for even a WR though. There goes the Top 2 QB's in the nation off the market with Sanchez (albeit very overated) going to SC.
|
Mack Brown, the John Cooper of the Southwest (only Cooper actually won two Rosebowls), is at it again, signing pro prospects who will learn valuable lessons from those losses to Oklahoma.
|
Theres still plenty of time, he even admitted on the radio program where he announced that this just means hes a Texas lean. Hes been going to LSU practices for the last year, and LSU has perhaps one of the best QB-developing OCs in the nation. If this is a situation he really thinks about, it will still be a Texas LSU battle till signing day. If he really is only worried about playing early(which is a stupid way of deciding where to sign even if you are trying to look at for yourself), Texas will get him.
As an aside, its interesting/weird to see talk about a player from a HS near my old stomping grounds on FOFC. Never liked his school though, his HS coach is even a Texas guy reportedly, which might tell you how hes being influenced right now. |
Norm Chow coaches at LSU? :)

Well Jimbos been in the one conference doing it longer. Chow certainly has the best record over the past 4 years or so. But Chow has also been working with guys who went in as pretty good passers. As far as Jimbo Fisher, he made 2 QBs at Auburn who weren't good passers previously all-sec(including athlete D. Craig). He arrived at LSU and groomed 2 QBs who were erratic at best before hand into all-sec QBs(Booty and Davey). Matt Mauck comes in as a running QB in HS-hardly a passer(passed for under 1000 yards his Senior year in HS). Not to mention Mauck had been in professional baseball for 4 years. And what does Jimbo do? He has Mauck, as a freshman, ready to lead LSU against then NC bound Tennessee in the SECCG in his first significant action. By last year he has Mauck passing like he was a pocket QB all along. I would say Jimbo has the reputation of doing the most with less. Davey probably had the most skills of any of these guys passing wise before Jimbo got his hands on him. But even Davey was far from ready to start in the SEC previously. The question is what Jimbo Fisher can do with blue chip QBs now that the current redshirt freshmen he has have grown up in his system. Regardless, I would pick Jimbo's track record with QBs over Texas's. Jimbo did 100x more with Matt Mauck than Texas ever did for a guy like Chris Simms. |
Norm Chow has been a QB Coach/OC for about 25 years now with 2 Heisman winners under his name.
Please dont make me defend the Mustard and Gold :) |

The Miners were trying to convince Chow to become our head coach until Price fell into our laps. Truth be said, I'm glad we got price. Lord only knows how Chow would do as a HC... |

But he hasn't been in the same spot for that long, not to mention I said hes done the best job in the nation over the last few years. Norm has enough blue chip QBs to last him a while. Geez you USC boys are still jumpy if you don't say the Trojans and their coaches are the best ever eh? :p And yes, based on the last decade I would still say Jimbo does the most with less than anyone. |

Uh oh, I see a brawl coming... |

Wow. You're really perceptive. Amazingly so, really. |

Aye... Jamelle Holloway was the best pure dropback passer I've ever seen. Any whispers in Austin about Young going pro Huck? |
Sure, Young wants to go pro early. For a while he was talking about after this season. Fortunately for him some pro personnel people got his ear and informed him that being drafted in the 7th round after your RS Soph season isn't good for your career.
What he needs is 2 years under a real QB coach. Which would mean Greg Davis not being around the next 2 seasons. |

Nah, their second string could probably kick the crap out of UCLA this year :( |

No one told Q. Carter that.... |

of course it will. just depends on if he really needs that purple and gold SUV he's goign to be offered |
What the difference between a Texas fan and an OU fan? Texas players talk about great players they have gotten. OU fans talk about great games they have won. :)
I cant wait for OU to add another notch to their Annual thumping of Texas belt! |
thats not true or funny

Funny you should say that, because if Perriloux goes to Texas, his mom miraculously already has a job lined up in Austin. Very similiar to Chris Duhan's mom's situation 5 years ago. So I don't think theres much to be said about LSU doing shady things with Ryan right now. |
How'd you like Bomar tonight?
|
I heard he did well. What's your point?
As for Perrilloux's mom, ha. Ha ha ha. |
Just asking.
|
he sure had good receivers
i wonder when his nightmares about drew kelson will start |
