Mixing Rivalries and Politics
I was talking to a guy today that told me even though he was a Democrat he couldn't vote for Kerry and would sit out this election. His reason wasn't security, or taxation, or abortion. His sole reason for not voting came down to: "I can't vote for any fucking Red Sox fan". He wasn't joking either.
That got me thinking, is their any team I hate so much that I wouldn't cast a vote for one of their fans? As an Ohio boy I may have to think about a Michigan fan, but I'd probably let that slip. For me I probably wouldn't vote for a Ravens fan at least if they loved Art Modell. My question to you is, what team do you hate so much that you wouldn't vote for one of their fans? |
Which is why we have an Electoral College and not a true democracy.
People didn't/don't vote for Bush because he's not a smooth-talking politician; or vote for Carter because he was a peanut farmer; or Nixon because he didn't look good on TV. It's all the same, no reasons are any better or worse than any other reasons. Don't think otherwise, it's human nature. |
I could not cast a vote for a Syracuse Mohawk fan.

Yeah, I admit that I'd flinch if I found myself about to vote for a UGA grad.
|
I would say that I would never vote for a Kansas grad for president, but I really don't think we have to worry about that happening.

Anyone who was a member of the Nazi party would lose my vote. Probably.

Raiders fan, no way in hell.

Only in America?

I may hate Art Modell and his demon offspring, Michigan, the Steelers, and any of the old Oilers.
But someone being a fan of their team is not going to stop me from voting. |
