How vulnerable are you to fraud?

(yes, got this off /.)

Interesting test: Which are legitimate emails, and which are "phishing frauds"

I got 10 of 10, but that may be because I've seen literally thousands of them :D

albionmoonlight 07-28-2004 04:22 PM

9 out of 10.

9/10, but for the most part, I thought the fraud ones were better than the crap ones I've seen.

Senator 07-28-2004 05:41 PM

I am not vulnerable to fraud. After I took the test and gave them my credit card info, they said I was at no risk whatsoever.

Joe 07-28-2004 06:08 PM

10/10, Kerry wouldn't get more tha 5

duckman 07-28-2004 06:11 PM

8/10

Leonidas 07-28-2004 08:54 PM

Got 7/10, but I answered fraud to all of them because I have no reason to accept mail from any. So personally I think I scored a 10.

DolphinFan1 07-28-2004 09:07 PM

I got 9/10, Ironically the one I didn't trust and got wrong was Microsoft. Go figure.

JeeberD 07-28-2004 09:30 PM

8/10

ScottVib 07-28-2004 09:50 PM

10/10

clintl 07-28-2004 10:11 PM

9/10

Daimyo 07-28-2004 10:55 PM

I got 9 out of 10 but the one I missed was erring on the side of caution. i think in general never give personal info after following a link from an email. Open the site manually instead and see what's up...

Mr. Wednesday 07-29-2004 01:10 AM

10/10... the three legit messages did not provide a link that you were supposed to access to "update" your information.

tucker342 07-29-2004 01:27 AM

8/10. Those fraud emails were thousands of times better than the ones I've seen.

sabotai 07-29-2004 01:56 AM

I don't need to take this test, legit or not I don't answer e-mail ads. BEAT THAT! :D

Marc Vaughan 07-29-2004 06:02 AM

7-10 by using my normal process of ignoring any such emails requesting I click this or that, if a bank or ebay etc. want me to do something they can tell me when I login to their sites ...

Mr. Wednesday 07-29-2004 01:27 PM

The three legit emails did not ask you to click this or that, which was the dead giveaway that they were legit. :p

SplitPersonality1 07-29-2004 04:22 PM

9/10 and I could have gone either way on the 10th. IRL, I would have erred on the side of caution, closed the e-mail and opened up the webpage in question to see if something was really going on.

Why in the world anyone would changed personal information from a link within an e-mail in this day and age is beyond me.

As a general rule; close out the e-mail and go directly to the site in question.

gstelmack 07-29-2004 05:18 PM

10-of-10, although I waffled on one.
