the point is this:

if someone is not supposed to see pictures that are on all the basic news sites, then they probably shouldn't be viewing this site at work anyway.

I certainly think it's reasonable not to have pornography or nudity linked directly on this board. I think trying to eliminate all the other stuff that "Esteemed Long-Time Poster" isn't allowed to see just for his benefit is silly. "Esteemed Long-Time Poster" needs to get over it.

My company doesn't mind if I surf while working (yes...I can multi-task..amazing for some I guess), but they don't like my surfing places that have questionable content. I'm sure my company isn't the only one like that.

Edit: I don't think I saw the pictures in question, so I have no idea of the details about this specific case but I would prefer to see SkyDog be over-aggressive in this area and as pointed out above... a link to it works just as well.

And I have no idea why all pictures of a questionable nature couldn't be hxxp linked. I think the point was if someone open that thread at work (or at school, in the public library, etc) that it would look like he was cruising porn. If you don't direct link, then people can still see them, and it would cause no one else trouble.

I would hope any IT person investigating bad surfing habits might be able to tell the difference between pictures of, say, a Brazilian wax job and a Brazilian Olympic Volleyball player.

Your missing the point. It is not the IT person, but your boss looking in your office and seeing 50 pics of womens butts that would be the problem.

Or the secretary bringing you a letter to sign...err...not that I've had that happen.

Bingo. If someone had been sitting at a cubicle and opened that thread (or even a news site with those pics), and someone had walked by, they would have been called into serious scrutiny/question. Whether anyone likes it or not, the fact remains is that the great majority of FOFC's traffic is during the American work-day. My guess is that some people are surfing with permission, and some aren't. Either way, it is my strong opinion that for the good of maintaining our base of those who post, this board need to remain "work-safe." If you want to view questionable pics during the workday, I'm quite sure you can easily find them elsewhere.

and, again, if that IS a problem, then you probably shouldn't be surfing this place at work anyway.

If it ruins it so much, then don't post it.

The pictures weren't questionable. I don't remember the news source, but those pics could of very easily been on ESPN, CBS Sportsline etc... They were sports photo's and this was a sports message board...

If its a picture on a Sports News site, we should be able to post it on a sports message board.

But, I don't really care about the pics, I just like to argue...
