Players Signing for Low Amounts?

Does anyone else run across this type of thing:

a bunch of players are asking for too much money (eg. Vick wants a 6-year contract in which he will make over $22M in the final year), so no one signs them in the regular free agency. Then, after Training Camp, all of these players will be signed for really cheap contracts... like $860K/1 year.

I don't really care about the small amount... I'd like to sign them for that much, but I know I can't, and I don't care if the computer teams do. However, I hate it when high-quality players in the same position get signed to the SAME team. Last year, Peyton Manning, Steve McNair (coming off a recond-setting QB rating season), and Donovan McNabb (coming off of an MVP year) all signed with the Eagles for that low amount. This year, Vick and Manning signed with the Bucs.

The Eagles are now left with three really crappy QBs. Another bad part is that this ruins the chances for a stand-out player to be made in my league. Peyton Manning had a crazy year last year as the starter for the Eagles, and led them to a Front Office Bowl, with a 125.2 QB Rating. This year, he's the backup to Vick. :(

Does anyone experience this type of stuff?

Ive found that certain players will take contracts with no bonus money, and certain guys will take not a penny less than their demands. By week 8 of second free agency, its rediculous that the guys demands dont shrink significantly.
