So do more Democrats or Republicans use caller ID?

Three times in the past week I been recieved a blocked telephone call from an agency taking a poll on who I am voting for this preidential election.

1. I hope these aren't the "scientific" polls that we read about in the paper and see on TV everyday, because I would say I am not in the minority of somebody who will never answer a blocked phone call.

2. One of the companies used up 10 minutes of my machine message time repeating the choices that I had to vote for. Anyone have any ideas on how I can call them back and thank them?

3. Would it be more advantagious to your canidate if you told the truth to support them in the polls or to lie and create a comfort zone that isn't realisitic? Obviously one person couldn't do this, but what if a huge group of Kerry supporters (or Bush) decided to do this to get voters out to the polls?

Oftentimes these polls are performed by candidates themselves as tests on the issues and to see which issues have a greater appeal on crossovers, etc. And to identify voters for election day who they can then call later and encourage to vote.

Heh. We have Privacy Director so I don't even see the blocked calls anymore. It's done wonders for cutting down on the telemarketing.
