At least the Bears hurt people if they can't win the game.

Will this help or hurt Roy Williams' fantasy value? Not real sure given that he's the man to roll your coverage towards now.

It's like snapping a wishbone at thanksgiving. I agree it makes me shudder...I just picture that long bone snapping. |

Two words. Broken. Femur. |
I pulled off this fantasy trade last week:
I got Jerry Porter and Tyrone Calico (hurt I know) I gave up Charles Rodgers and Musa Smith (throw in--I would've cut him anyway) Bonus -- the team I traded with cut Roy Williams because he didn't want 2 Detriot receivers. So he basically gave up Porter, Calico, and Williams and got nothing in return! Double Bonus -- this guy won the league last year I'm still laughing. |
hmm....he was out for 2 seasons with a similar injury in the eNFL. weird...
|
I hope he rebounds from these 2 injuries. Hope it's not a career killer.

That makes two of us. :( I started a Madden season with the Lions a few weeks back. Rogers went down with a dislocated elbow for 8 weeks. |
Don't worry, Yatil Green showed us it's easy to come back when you miss 2 seasons.
Oh, wait.... |
A broken collarbone should be easier to return to full strength from than a torn up knee, especially for a wide receiver. At most he might lose some flexibility in the upper body, but I doubt that even.
Whether he can keep from breaking it yet again is an entirely different story. |
It's sort of amazing that there aren't more broken collar bones. It really doesn't take that much pressure on that bone to break it. Seven pounds of pressure if I recall correctly.

That still doesn't top my horrendous Autodraft nightmare that I must live with for the entire season. I had the #1 overall pick in the draft, so I preranked my players on Sportsline because I couldn't make the draft date. I had Portis as a keeper so I was going for a QB. I ranked Culpepper 1st so I was guaranteed to get him. NOPE! Apparently Sportsline bent me over and drafted TJ Duckett as my #1 pick. So instead of getting all those points for Culpepper and Portis (46 pts and 20 points), I was stuck with McNair (9pts 73 Pass yds) and Duckett as my RB2 who got an astounding 6 yards. |
well at least they run more than 5 yard outs in Detroit

Yeah, I saw the Roy Williams highlights and thought something was wrong. I wasn't aware that you were allowed to throw the ball up to your super-talented 6'3.5" receiver that won the high jump title in high school and let him go get it. Then I made myself feel better about the Longhorns by reminding myself that those kind of gimmick plays may work in the NFL, but there's no way Roy could have made it work in the Big XII. |

Teddy Lehman scored more career TD's in the RRS than Roy Williams did. Now, they're teammates. |
Apparently now the team is saying Rogers' break this time around had absolutely nothing to do with him breaking the collarbone last year. I find that a little hard to believe but, either way, he's gone for the season for sure. It looks like they will either promote Kircus from the practice squad or sign Swinton back, but neither guy would get many reps. I would like to see Eddie Drummond get some more reps at receiver now.

the 2003 #2 overall pick will have missed all but 5 games in his first two NFL seasons. ugly... |
