MNF: Packers @ Panthers

I will give Carolina one thing, hot ass cheerleaders.

And I believe in bad signs, and when Grady Jackson went down for the Pack, my 4 yr old girl looked at me and said "They aren't going to win without him." CRAP!

Good start so far though....GO PACK GO!

cthomer5000 09-13-2004 08:31 PM

That looked like it was likely a pretty bad knee injury. And I suspect he's even heavier than the 350 lbs they quoted him at.

i drive through there, even Green Bay, but I will get up there for a game sometime again. Last and only Packer game I went to in Green Bay was almost 5 years ago (my kid was concieved after Reggie Whites last home game as a Packer). :D

This year though, they play in Houston, and we are going to that game.

SegRat 09-13-2004 09:08 PM

I went to the Packer Seahawk playoff game, that was unbelieveable, before that I went to Lyn Dickey and Paul Coffman's last Packer, 1984 I believe.

Cringer 09-13-2004 09:08 PM

7-3 Carolina, Pack got screwed on that drive I am telling you.....and yeah, learn to tackle

Draft Dodger 09-13-2004 09:14 PM

Who?

Vegas Vic 09-13-2004 09:36 PM

That last scoring drive by the Packers looked bad for the Panthers front seven. They were getting manhandled like they did in the 2nd half of the Superbowl.

gstelmack 09-13-2004 09:38 PM

BS call on the intentional grounding. 2 receivers near the pass, doesn't matter if it won't reach 'em.

Did they change the rule on the offense advancing a fumble? I thought only the guy who fumbled could advance it, other players on offense could just fall on it. That came up last year when Muhammed had a ball knocked out of his hands, bounced back into them, and he ran it in for a score.

cthomer5000 09-13-2004 09:38 PM

Yeah. For such an allegedly dominant front four, they can certainly disappear for large spans of time.

It's now a time related thing (it came up on the last play of the Giants game yesterday - when Manning got 'jacked up'). If it's inside the last 5 minutes (or is it 2 minutes?) then only the fumbler can advance the ball if recovered.

I could be wrong, but I think the rule is that a team can't advance a fumble on 4th down. Although maybe only the player who fumbles can advance it on 4th down, I'm pretty sure anyone can advance it on a normal play.

timmynausea 09-13-2004 09:43 PM

I looked it up. We're both right.

4. On a play from scrimmage, if an offensive player fumbles anywhere on the field during fourth down, only the fumbling player is permitted to recover and/or advance the ball. If any player fumbles after the two-minute warning in a half, only the fumbling player is permitted to recover and/or advance the ball. If recovered by any other offensive player, the ball is dead at the spot of the fumble unless it is recovered behind the spot of the fumble. In that case, the ball is dead at the spot of recovery. Any defensive player may recover and/or advance any fumble at any time.

This may have something to do with the Packers having the best offensive line in the league :D

Cringer 09-13-2004 10:00 PM

YA!!!!! 17-7! Packers

Jake Delhomme hits Smith on the numbers, in stride, and gets credited for an interception.

Cringer 09-13-2004 10:08 PM

I've never seen so many guys up n the line for the Packers, on so many plays, it's kind of nerve racking sometimes....INT though, nice!

Mr. sovstar, sir, you just jealous man.....

cthomer5000 09-13-2004 10:13 PM

The Pack running game is looking damn good.

CHEMICAL SOLDIER 09-13-2004 10:19 PM

It's now 24 - 7 . Well time to go for a run

Cringer 09-13-2004 10:19 PM

24-7 Packers, this is better then I could have hoped for.......

TLK 09-13-2004 10:20 PM

I took GB +3. This makes me feel a hell of a lot better after the BAL/CLE game....

cthomer5000 09-13-2004 10:22 PM

I also took the Packers tonight. Last nights over and this game will make up for my misplaced faith in the Ravens.

Cringer 09-13-2004 10:29 PM

A tank in Iraq with "Favre's Backup" painted on the cannon, i LOVE it!

Vegas Vic 09-13-2004 10:38 PM

Hat's off to the Packers. They are dominating the game. Overall, a piss-poor effort from the Panthers.
