OT: Anyone else a sunflower seed junkie?
Been eating them for years. I tried some of the new flavors but always end up going back to good old fashioned roasted/salted plain jane.
I saw some of the new packs that come from their own cup heh. Anyways, just wondering. |
I got off the seed after little league. Toughest 16 months of my life.
|
My landlord used to have a giant sunflower plant in his front yard, I would pick that baby, clean em, and salt em and store em away. I don't eat em now cause my teeth are so sensitive but damn, they are addicting.
|
I don't eat them because when I do I eat the shells, and people think I'm freakish because of that.
I also eat peanut shells and popcorn kernels. |
That is kind of strange... I chipped a tooth once on a popcorn kernel
I was reading a lot of long distance runners eat them. They have Vitamin E, phosphorus, magnesium, fiber, zinc and folic acid. Cool. |

Less wind resistance without any teeth. |

Every year when ball starts up, it's back into the bag so to speak for the 3 months of nice weather we get up here.
|
I used to a lot when I played baseball, but my dentist said it was causing my gums to recede in the spot where I kept them, believe it or not.

I do that too when I eat them, but too often pieces of shell get jammed into my gums and it hurts like a bitch. Haven't had them in a while, though I nearly got some at the store last week... |
